I try not to at times, however I do find that I sleep easier with the TV on. It keeps my attention and focus from other things while still making me tired. Also the background noise is comforting, as well. When I'm not sleeping in my room, however, the TV will always be on when I go to sleep unless my dad states otherwise, as he is usually trying to sleep in the living room as well.

I can't sleep with the TV on unless it is very quiet and dim. If it's bright and loud then it keeps me awake. And if I do then I'm forced to pay a portion of the electric bill. Not a good thing.

I do sleep sometimes with the TV on, sometimes I sleep with my radio on, and in the summer I'll sleep with my fan on. I am one of those people who can't sleep in dead silence. I don't know why, but I just can't fall asleep in dead silence. Most of the time, I put my radio on a sleep timer and I'll play one of my Tool or A Perfect Circle CDs (my username, right?). If we're on summer vacation, I'll bring my fan with me. Its not a loud fan, but it does make a little noise, big enough for me to put me to sleep. Maybe that's weird to some people, but my wife is the same way. I've NEVER slept in a room with no noise before and hopefully, I never will.
