I know it may not be the most popular thing in the world to do but it’s better to live modestly, save your money, add to it as best as you can and build a nest egg for yourself and your family. You never know when you may need the money to fall back on. Besides it would be nice to build a solid cushion so that if you want to retire early you could. At least that’s the way I would view things if I ever had the chance to garner that kind of money. Who needs a mansion? Financial security and stability is much more valuable.

  If I don't have to pay taxes on the million then first would be college, then a house that I like, and then I would give some to charities like the ASPCA. I'd also give some to the person who lives in California who runs a cat sanctuary. She is constantly needing to buy food and medical supplies because she and her staff help over 700 cats.

Well, first I would buy a brand new DeLorean DMC-12 with the performance upgrade. Then I would probably buy a $60,000-$80,000 house somewhere--nothing too expensive, but nice none-the-less, and then I'd pay off my student loans and other debts. All together that would be about $200,000, so I'd take the other $800,000 and invest it. I'd probably put about 20% of that into venture capital funds, you know, high risk high reward kind of stuff, then maybe 50% of it would go into low risk stocks, and the remainder would be put into CDs and other safe investments.

Although, I might buy a couple more houses to rent out. Who knows?
