Who, in your opinion, was the hardest boss in EarthBound and why?
I ALWAYS have trouble with the 2nd form of the final Sanctuary Guardian, the Diamond Dog........ it doesn't take that long to beat its Carbon Dog form, but if you use a Multi Bottle Rocket to take it out, you're screwed over, since the Diamond Dog has a Power Shield. Also, he can deal high levels of damage and Diamondize you easily. Most people have trouble with him, anyway.

I spent literally half an hour pressing bash. I got so bored, i was watching tv and simply hitting "D" on the computer. When i dealed about 40,000 damage, i finally went to starmen.net. I found that you had to use a jar of fly honey. I started the battle over, used the jar of fly honey, and beat him in 30 seconds. Oh, the irony.

Besides Diamond Dog, the only other boss I actually had some trouble with was Electro Specter (In my Japanese MOTHER 1+2 cartridge). I couldn't figure out what item was the neutralizer to kill his PSI shield, so I struggled for a bit to beat him.

The hardest boss in earthbound was...two ghosts of starman even if they not a boss..they still hard as hell..i never had a problem with bosses exept for mother 3 the 3 wierd pink dudes guardian of the neddle..

The hardest boss for me to defeat would of been Diamond Dog... most of the bosses weren't a challenge for me so I had more fun playing the game more than a lot of players who had trouble with most of the bosses;.

The hardest boss to me was indeed Giygas because of its weird look of a fetus, I just was freaked out and I could not play the game with the skill I usually have.

I think that the Golden Starmen are hard because I could never take them out quickly. I also hated Giygas because it was a partly scripted and long fight, making it boring and not paying attention to it will make you die.

TG: for earthbound i would say i had the most trouble with the starman deluxe in the stonehenge base
TG: i guess i just hadnt trained enough to fight it since i lost pretty quickly against it
TG: after lots of level grinding
TG: mainly fightin the starman supers 
TG: it was a lot easier after that
TG: i dunno i didnt really find the diamond dog that difficult
TG: i guess after the starman deluxe i made sure to level grind a lot before fightin a boss
