I would not call it insane, but more just a dog trying to figure something out or working away around THE DREADED TOWEL!

My current dog, Faith, would do everything she could not to be dried off with the towel when she was a pup. Sees the towel, tries to make a run for it, but we would get her. Plus, we would yell if she actually got past us, and then she would feel bad and turn around. Faith also would try to shake herself off first and then stroll in as if she did everything for us, haha!

Today, she just resigns to waiting for the towel to be over. No more fighting with the towel, trying to bite it or tangle it up to make it hard for us. I suppose it depends if your dog hates being towel-dried though.

Kinda made me think of something I've seen cats do though, which isn't so nice  -.-  I've seen cats try to wipe their butts clean by dragging them on the floor.  Be thankful your dog isn't doing that, at least!

What my dog liked to do, however, is she would come up next to you and shake off the water until she was dry and I was soaking wet.  Not quite insane on her part, but more like dominance.  Crazy dogs can be crazy though.
