Huh, I actually despised this fan game for some reason.
But I'm actually starting to like it.
I think the reason I didn't like it was that it was too different from the official games.
But I realized that MOTHER 3 was far different from Earthbound, and I loved MOTHER 3, probably topping it as my favorite game in the MOTHER series.

I can't WAIT for this. Itoi mentioned a Mother development, and along with this it may be a comeback for the Mother series. REALLY hoping for this. They've changed the graphics a little, which is in GuardianZack's 1st screenshot. The last 2 are the older ones.

They also said there are some Earthbound/ Mother/ Mother 3 gags coming back. The obvious ones are the Mr. Saturns who appear on various places on the site, and they even proved it. LoNg LiVe Mr. SaTuRn, DiNg! :3
Also there will be some pop culture references and music from the past games returning as well, with some features like naming the characters whatever you want. However, I highly doubt this can be made official, since they said "It would be impossible to put the whole game in Japanese and ship it over to Itoi. Plus, he never said that he'd make a fangame official, he just said "He'd love to play it." And as I mentioned earlier, it'd be impossible to put the whole game in Japanese, as quoted by the staff.
As Zack just mentioned, they recently hired new staff, so the game'll be going at a fast pace, which is absolutely great.
As of now tho, it isn't possible, but if the Mother fanbase continues to grow, the Mother series could become a great and popular game, possibly rivaling Mario, as Zack also said.
That's pretty much one of my goals here is to attach a great amount of people to the series so that can be made possible. Long live the Mother series.

We all know I hate fake mother 4s there its personal and I hate the idea of a fan made one.

Mother3fan5 : What I am thinking, is that after the game is finished, other gamers who want to help it spread will eventually modify it into a rom. If that were to happen, then the likelihood of someone eventually making a translation patch would be fairly high. Seeing that it will be a downloadable, Itoi could get his hands on it via online when the time ever came. No one expected Mother 3 to ever get translated, but through the hard work and dedication of all the fans, even Vizzed has a copy.

If the fans were to try and get the attention of the developers, though, the target would be Game Freak/Creatures, not Itoi himself. We should all petition for them to take a look at it when it is finished.

Why didnt anyone give me a summon? I think it will turn out great if professionals ore helping. Also what system will it be for? Is is going to be an snes or gba game or is it going to be a computer game.

DARKANINE : just because it looks like another clone doesn't mean it won't be great. I even think the graphics look pretty well compared to the last 3. I heard some of the music and it sounded quite well also.

So Mother 4 is in Development? That's pretty cool. I can't really call myself a big Mother/Earthbound fan, but I got to say this is pretty interesting. Hopefully the game can come out in the next couple of years, so it can be on 3DS or something. That would be cool.

pacman1755 : It is going to be made by the fans not Nintendo so its probably not going to be for the 3ds.

They got a lot done so far if you ask me. The sprites look a little boring.

earthwarrior : Oh, that makes a bit more sense that its going to be a fan-made game. Now that you'd think about it, 3D Mother would be a bit awkward. Well, I'm looking forward to it nevertheless.

A fan based Mother game? Sounds really cool and the pictures look really nice, just like the other games, but with some little new touches.

My only concern about this is the story. Will it be a story of its own or will it have something to do with the other ones? If it is a fresh start for a whole new story, that's good. If it's somehow linked to the others... I wouldn't like that kind of story, really. I've read what the game is about, but I'm not really convinced. It is just a sneak peek to what the story would be and it sounds a bit like what happens in Mother 3.
