Definitely Pikachu. In the older games I would spend as long as it took to catch a pikachu at the start. Once I caught it I would train it to levels where it would still listen to me. I would have a party of 6 pikachus for most battles (except for ones where it would be borderline stupid to have 6 pikachus. Like against Brock)

My fascination has to do with my undying love of all things electric...
