Hi, my name is MarshanInvaders, I just joined today because I have been looking for a way to play old video games that I never got a chance to when I was younger legally, Which has been a real pain, as you could imagine, but then I stumbled on this site and I am in love. I hope to start working a project soon involving some of the games here and that I had some questions that I am having no luck finding elsewhere on the site.

First is control configuration. At the moment I am playing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the controls aren't entire how I would like them. I saw that you have to enter the menu to change them but on my screen is tells me to get to the menu I have to "DoubleClick" and I can't figure out what to do. I figure I have to double click on something but I can't for the life of me figure out what.

Secondly, I saw somewhere, and I can't for the life of me find where, that you can capture video from the game but I'm not sure how to.

So I would assume that these are pretty standard things but I don't necessarily know. However, if there is a better thread to put my questions or a post where I can be directed to that will answer my questions, that would be just fine.

And I suppose that is all of my questions and my introduction. I hope that this website will definitely grow and prosper.

MarshanInvaders : First: You just need to double click anywhere in the game window, it will open. Second: Did you download the most recent version of the rgr plugin? You can find it here: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=8676. It will have a link in the top right(?) corner. Then, just follow the on-screen instructions. Hope this helped! BTW, if you want a layout, I suggest Singelli, she made this layout and works for a very little Viz. Feel free to PM me with any questions, or friend me.

Thank you for the reply, and I do have the latest version (1.951) but when I double click in the game window, it does nothing. Could it be because I am running it on Google Chrome instead of Firefox or Internet Explorer?

Yep, Chrome doesn't work well with vizzed, try IE, I haven't had problems with it so far.

mrfe : It seems to work okay on Chrome.
earthwarrior: you were right, I was playing on the Mupen emulator and when I switched over to the 1964 emulator, I was able to change the controls. Bummer seeing as I have a save state on the mupen but lesson learned.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I've heard that it works better on IE, but if it works on Chrome, it works on Chrome. Are you a fan of RPG's?

earthwarrior : Yeah, you said that there is a button that says "record" for video capture, but I have the latest plugin but I don't see it. Is it only on certain emulators or where would it be on the screen?

mrfe : Yeah, I enjoy RPG's, I've actually never played Ocarina of Time before so even though it's an old game, it's definitely a new experience.

You might want to try the "Fire emblem" series. There are alot of good hacks too, like the last promise.

I briefly skimmed through the responses here (instead of reading them like usual, because I have a bad headache).... so I apologize if someone said this already:  Some emulators and systems require that you hit escape to set the controls.  If all else fails, you can try Mednafen, which is offered in some cases to the upper left in yellow text.

Finally, video recording is also only available to certain systems, and the window will mention it.  You record by pressing F6.

Again, sorry if any of this was already said.  Normally I actually read through stuff, but oy.. the head pounds!

Thanks for the response. Yeah, we found out that the emulator that I'm playing on doesn't allow for control set up and that the system doesn't allow video recording. It's a bummer, but it happens. Thank you again though.
