If Daisy had a little more ACTUAL game time, I think she would be the best princess.

I do like Peach in smash brothers, but if Daisy was in there, I would be playing her more in a heartbeat (and not just a Daisy-colored costume).

Personally, I felt that instead of two nameless toads, Daisy should make replace one of them in the New Super Mario Brothers Wii/U. Then have the other toad have a red hat, and you would have the cast of Super Mario Brothers 2 as the heroes, but Daisy taking over for Princess Peach!

Just a little daydream, however, as Nintendo seems content to leave Daisy (and Waluigi for that matter) on the sidelines in party/sports games.

My favorite princess from a Nintendo game would have to be Eirika from Fire Emblem Sacred Stones. She is one of the few princesses that actually fights for herself, and with a sword nonetheless. Not only that, but in that game she has a tendency to kick ass by hitting like a truck.

Princess Elincia from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is awesome. One of my favorite characters from that game in general, she's extremely useful in a lot of ways, especially if you level her up. I don't like her as much as a queen in Radiant Dawn, though.
