Im gonna have to go with charmander for these reasons:

-He's affective against the starting pokemon in the begging of the game
-He learns Blastburn
-He Learns GREAT moves

Therefore unstoppable

But that may just be my opinion cause i always like charmander more. And fire is cool

Someone else already asked this but I'm going to say Charmander since his final evolution is Charizard and Charizard being, in my opinion, the best final evolution of the 3 pokemon mainly because his attacks are just stronger and he can be taught more moves (if I remember correctly).

In blue and red its either Bulbasaur or Squirtle if you
want to breeze through the beggining of the game however however Charizard kicks ass later in the game.
And Silver and Gold? Cyndiquil. First two gyms are bird and bug, and then theres Sprout Tower.

I like Bulbasaur the best but the fire pokemon always seem to be the best. Lol Pikachu tends to kick ass though too...however in yellow he's useless until after Brock.

And when alls said and done all three starters have about equal stats so for most useful in a single player game it has to be Bulbasaur because of the ease it makes progressing through the game.
By the time you really need a fire type you will have been able to catch and train either a Vulpix or Growlithe, or raise an Eevee into a Flareon.

well usually i pick fire pokemon no matter which one they are, but i have been choosing other types now. i really like bulbasaur bcus he is very good early in the game and at a lot of gyms.

I think that Bulbasaur is a great choice.
Because it has an element advantage against the 2 first gym leaders. Also, its training is much easier than the others.

I would always pick a different one each time! Personally... I think my least picked is Bulbasaur. If I spelt that correctly. I think because in the beginning when you have to walk through grass and stuff you always see birds and some have peck, therefor he can be killed easily plus I just don't think he is as cute as the other two.
