This Game Is Too Hard For Beginners.
The Graphics are typical for its generation and were not improved much from the first instalment of Double Dragon for the N.E.S. More Characters were added but many vanished. You have more Characters to choose from than the first game, but, you have to beat them in a fight first. The weapons are fun to pick up and use but the amount of places you can venture to on foot is limited. Allot of fun from the first game came from the smooth manuvering. With that out of the window completely its easy to see why no one remembers this title. The Music is N.E.S. music that may or may not annoy. The controls are not very smooth. Thankfully "Jump Kicks" are smoothed out enough to completely dominate the entire strategy "if needs be." There are different strengths to the selectable characters to use to gain an advantage but the controls are not very ironed out enough to matter much. Because the controls are an issue, the game is a far cry from its roots in the "Coin-Op" world. The Story is very much like an episode from a Saturday morning cartoon. It adds a little, but not enough to keep a player interested. By the time the player gets to the end (If they survive till the end) The final Boss is So Supped Up the difficulty challenge goes out the window and very few will bother to even consider completing. This one might make a good hack if the hacker can smooth out the control issues.
I recommend this game to hackers who studied "River City Ransom". Or If they just need additions to their "sprite pool".
"Nostalgia Fans" Beware. This game has little to satisfy. Check Out a Copy of the S.N.E.S. "Double Dragon" before getting mixed up in this one.The Jump kick Strategy gets tiresome and boring too quickly to Endure. The Ending?..........I'm Not going to give it away. I suffered a good few years of my child hood with this thing to respect other games that have heroes rescuing damsels in them.
That's My Review. I'm Done. Stick A Fork In Me.
Peace.
