I was thinking about emulating FFVII until I realized something: Get the PC version! PC version came with a patch that made in-battle characters look like actual people, not detailed moving blocks.
I was just researching the patch until I found out that you can patch even more with other mods. I hit the jackpot.
Tons of mods, patches,etc. It's like FFVII Ultima Edition, but it's not a load of bull.

This is awesome! All you need is: FFVII PC, the link, the step-by-step instructions.

If you don't have an actual disk of FFVII, download the torrent, then mount it using Daemon Tools(can use D.Tools Lite).
Well, just follow the instructions.

Edit: Got rid of my layout. Should make things easier to understand.

It's a bit tricky to mod though. I can't find a working download of the high-res mod(not the graphics update). The download given in the site is broken. Maybe it's just Chrome though. *shrugs*

i have seen this before but to tell you the truth all it is, is taking the character maps and graphics from the battle screen and putting them in the map and city screens.

But it is still awesome!

It does seem like the battle graphics from final fantasy 7 but it is still very cool and I am totally gonna download it and play it as it looks awesome!
