One of my favorite mythical creatures would have to be a Changeling. Not the ones from "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic", but the actual changelings.

"A changeling is a creature found in Western European folklore and folk religion. It is typically described as being the offspring of a fairy, troll, elf or other legendary creature that has been secretly left in the place of a human child."

Another interesting thing was that in some folklore, the changelings are put in place of the child to feed off of the mother of the child and the kidnapped child was left to become food for the changeling's mother. That's so sick, twisted, horrific and I love iitt!!

I've always liked Japanese fox demons-hiding behind masks of real people, beautiful ladies standing on the side of the road. They weren't evil as much as capricious and sometimes they would help, but usually they would trick and beguile. But they were very smart and if you could get one to like you, you were guaranteed success

My second favorite one is the Pheonix, in the legends where she would turn into a lady. The Russian fairy tale with her and the cherries has always appealed to me.
