I like the Belinni Siren, it's ability to captivate the heart of sailors and make them crash into coral reefs, sharp rocks and stuff for seemingly no reason aside from being a massive troll is beautiful.

I'd have to say Pontius Pilate is my favorite mythological character. He's such a silver-tongued devil. Think about it, he somehow had the charisma to inspire people to revolt against a cultural icon with great success.

Ok, if Pontius Pilate can be your favorite mythological character than George Washington will be mine.  Think about it, he led an army of farmers and peasants against what was one of the strongest armies and empires of the day.  (However, Davideo7 is my favorite mythological character involved with this forum.)

that you are referring to his leading everyone to support Christ's death.  This is not true.  In reality, Pontius Pilate was against the crucifixion of Christ citing Christ's innocence and lack of any evidence of any wrong doing several times.  He even employed various tactics to try to rescue Christ one of which was to take one of most vile and evil criminals of the day and give the people the choice between a man who was innocent of all wrong doing or a man who had performed vile acts to be freed and walk among them.  When they chose the wicked individual he then employed a final psychological tactic...he washed his hands of the event (he was pretty much in a corner with no choice in the matter at this point, he legally had to do what they demanded at this point) to point out his innocence and symbolically let them know that the blood of an innocent man was on their shoulders, not his.  They then chanted that it not only be on theirs but their children's as well.

Pontius Pilate did not convince anyone of anything, but rather failed to bring about justice because the mob had been propelled toward a vicious hate over vicious lies spread by the pharisees and Sadducees.  

Jesus is my choice in this thread for this thread.

3. He has a lot in common with Half-Life.
4. Beating the sh*t out of a bunch of merchants selling their wares in a temple

My favorite mythical creature is the Chimera.  Ever since playing Age of Empires with my friend, I've always thought they were cool.

A shark riding an elephant would be rather interesting to see =)

That being said, even to atheists neither Jesus nor Pontius Pilot would be mythical.  Both have been proven to walk the earth and historians of all religions admit and acknowledge the countless historical documents concerning both.  Atheists can denounce the idea that Jesus was the Son of God but to deny that Jesus the man walked the earth would be rather...well...ignorant of historical fact.  Roman, Jewish, Greek, and various other empires' historical documents actual discuss these people in depth and the History Channel even took the time to put together a documentary discussing His life and acknowledging He did in fact walk the earth.  So, the argument against His Godhood is one thing, but an argument against His existence is as ignorant of historical fact as someone coming on this forum trying to convince us that this website doesn't exist.

My favorite is the chimera or Pegasus. They both can fly and look cool.

My favorite has always been and always will be dragons. Second is unicorns.

Specifically, my favorite dragon characters are Smaug and Saphira. The Last Unicorn/Lady Amalthea is my favorite unicorn character. ;D

Annette :  First and foremost: dragons are awesome! Second: Smaug, Sapphira, and the last unicorn are cool too. Only the last unicorn movie was kinda hard to follow; haven't watched in years.

Mia03 : I got The Last Unicorn on VHS tape when I was eight years old, and I didn't completely understand the story then. xD

If you watch it again you'd probably be able to follow. The soundtrack is one of the best things about the film in my opinion.

Mine is probably either dragons or faeries. Dragons are so cool. My sister use to draw really well done dragons when she was younger. And since she is nine years older then me, she was a big influence on me, and made me to start liking dragons. I also like faeries. This is because that my image of them, is they are good, but love to play tricks and be mischevious. I feel like if I owned a faerie, it would be pretty interesting to see what he/she would come up with for a practical joke.

Jeez, I can't really pick...Oh well Let's go with the Infamous Manticore, There is just something about people getting Impaled by giant poisonous spikes I can't resist... And secondly we have the strong and proud dragon's and those mischivious fairy's, As for the Dragon's I think it's pretty obvious why I like them. As for the fairy's, First off seeing as I like to prank and trick my friends I can already relate with them, Oh and did I mention that in most appearances they are almost always nude? I hadn't heard of a manticore before, and I did some research.  It's actually pretty interesting, depending on which version you're looking at.  You learn something new every day, huh?

For those of you that like the chimera, can you please, -please- explain that one to me?  LOL  For the life of me, I can't imagine why ANYONE would think it was neat.  I mean it's got to be the most demented looking thing I've ever seen!  If you are referring to the original chimera (lion with a goat's head smack dab in the middle of its back and a serpent for a tail)...... WHY!?!?!  I must have seen hundreds of images of that thing, and the ONLY ones I can even begin to fathom as being attractive to anyone are the ones which vastly strayed from the intended creature.  Jeepers!

As for me, I have to be kind of lame here.  I think dragons are pretty swell.  ^.^

Singelli :  I think the manticore is pretty weird looking so I don't really like it. However, the original Chimera is awesome. Really! A lion that breathes fire and has a snake tail with a goat head in the middle. 

Mia03 : Hey, if it was just a lion that breathed fire, I'd be all for it!  But the goat head looks ridiculous!  It's like a Frankenstein experiment gone wrong.

Singelli :  I guess it kinda does. But hey, the mythical creature book I have says it was born from (I think) the roman god Jupiter and someone/thing else. I don't really remember but its something like that.
