I was working on a script which deletes read notifications and deletes unread notifications older than a year. While working on this feature, I mistyped a query which resulted into all notifications being deleted.

While this isn't a big deal, it will suck for some users. Though the good news is, the site feels a little faster and if the scripts continue to remove unneeded notifications from the database, the site's speed will continue to be benefited from this.

I thought that any that you don't see on your notification page just got deleted since I could never see an option to view more pages for older notifications.
