what do you think will end the world

Most proballay sun will die and destroy earth with it or being swallowed by a black hole (for those who don't know what does black hole means see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_hole) or being hit with an asteroid very large that the whole earth gets destroyed.

I dont think anything will get the chance to end the world.

new trainer : Our sun is not the type of star that causes a black hole after going out. But it is one that will grow large enough to engulf earth eventually. 

Oldschool41 : A black hole won't get us. No star capable of causing a black hole after implosion is close enough to Earth to pull it in. 

rcarter2 : Hmm guess your right. Well in that case we can rule out Black Holes. So it looks like the earth will die by...

1. Tectonic Plate Stopping (This will happen).
2. Supervolcano
3. Asteroid
4. Massive Famine
5. Moon floats away into space...which might not kill the earth, but could make life difficult (From what I've heard. Not 100% thou...I'll do some research.)

Its believed that Tectonic Plates have some sort of effect on the Magnetic Field on Earth. If Tectonic drift stops, then we would have a smaller or almost no Magnetic Field, making the Earth less inhabitable.

Its not much and I don't know if its true, but you can do a google search of "Tectonic Plate stop" and some links will be provided.

I personally think that it is one big cycle. We start as cave men who know nothing and then we evolve so much that we are so dependent on technology that when it crashes we are helpless. Then we have to rebuild and re-invent everything. And I believe that this is how the cycle goes. I mean where did the idea for so many great things come from? They had to come from somewhere. Lather, rinse, repeat.

There actually one way the world could end which is Climate Change . Climate change will cause the polar ice caps to melt which will cause the sea level to rise because temperature rise . Also climate change is caused by the pollution .

Probably some meteor or insane solar flare.

Depends on what scenario of "Ending the World" we're talking about here, Nya~.

For the "End of Mankind" scenario, I have a few ideas:

1) Biological Warfare: This one I'd be most afraid of. As humans improve their means of killing each other, we notice our old ways will become ineffective. So, the only unstoppable way is through super-germs that can take down an entire army in two weeks, as a mere example. It'd probably include horrible suffering and severe pain.
2) War: We fight. We kill. We do nothing to end the terror. What happens when we finally can't come to a compromise, and we don't test what we're going to use?
3) Meteorite: It'd be the least likely, but a simple meteorite could literally have the potential to wipe out our existence.

For the "Destruction of the Planet" scenario:

1) Meteorite: Not only could one have the potential to wipe out mankind, but it also has the potential to destroy the planet, too.
2) Climate Change: This would take the longest, but by then, we'd have been able to adapt by then. No need going over it more.
3) The Sun: It's no secret that in billions of years from now, the Sun will engulf us and the planet, but that doesn't mean only then will the planet die. It'll die when it starts getting larger, to where we're in a position much like Venus, or even Mercury.

There are definitely tons of others, but I think the one that will do us in for Mankind is Biological Warfare, and the one to end the planet itself would be the Sun, Nya~.
