darthyoda : That is one of the major reasons that my parents chose home schooling over public schooling. And when we go in to take our CAT (California administrative tests) tests we all score above the public school level. We get B and A levels on every class. So yeah, that's why. (:

I never had the option to be home schooled, it was just to expensive for my family and my school system didn't offer it as a free option until after I graduated. I don't regret going to public school, it's where I met my best friends and I'm sure it helped shape me into the person I am today. My grandfather did however help me with school work whenever I needed it and he actually was the one who got me into history so techniqually I was still learning at home.

I've been home schooled my whole life, along with my four other siblings. I never really had a choice, but I wouldn't change that anyway. I find the best thing is that you go at your own pace. You don't have to stay on a set schedule.

I'm a public schooler (slightly wrong terminology...as you can clearly tell I'm from public school lol.) My parents would never home school me since they didn't exactly make the best choices during their school days (to put it in a non-bluntly way).

I went to public schools my whole life, and I teach in a public school.  When I was in school myself, I was always pro- home school.  Now that I'm a teacher in a public school, I'm even MORE pro- home school.

Public school is corrupt and completely ineffective. It's also extremely biased.  Sure, there are countries which have worse education that we do, but if you take a look around the world, you will see just how ineffective our school system is.  I can't tell you how frustrating it is to be told I don't do my job because I teach my kids and I don't give them easy A's.  In my opinion, public school is all about -appearance- instead of results.

I go to a public school, it needs quite a bit of work on it though! Honestly I don't think the janitor does  his job. In the gym the floor is covered with dust, I mean when you swipe your hand on the floor you can see all of that dust on the floor. No offence to the janitor or anything. And the painting on the wall in the gym is from the 1980s.

Well I go to public school because I live where I am very alone most of the time but once my parents thought of making me home school and I was a bit worried as I might get scolded for not doing well or not reaching my targets (which is high but I reach it most of the times) so I was lucky enough to go to pubic school.

I graduated high school four years ago, but I used to go to public schools. I liked my schools and teacher's, and I never got any bad influences. But yeah public school wasn't bad, and I don't regret not getting home schooled.

I myself was home schooled. Loved it. I can see plusses to both sides, but I myself preferred home schooling. It really depends on a lot of things. The child's preference, and the parent's ability to devote time and effort to home schooling are a couple of those reasons. I don't think there is a right or wrong choice.
