Regardless of the holidays and the traditions and backgrounds behind them, I try to consider the Fall as a time of fruition. It is the season in which I recall all of the trials I have gone through during the year, and acknowledge everything I am thankful for. So, I thought it would be insightful if we all took a turn stating the hardest trial we have overcame this year, and to show appreciation for what we have. I will go first:

The hardest thing that I have had to deal with this year is both my cat and dog dying. My dad was extremely attached to the dog, and had to hold him as they put him down. My dad cried and the dog licked his face right before he went. My cat was nineteen years old, and had to be put down also, but because of old age instead of diabetes. Our house has been empty the entire year, and we have really had to struggle as a family to get through the void feeling. Having pets is almost like having children; and when they die, everything seems so silent and barren. My dad became severely depressed and lost his will to live for awhile because of what had to be done, but my rationality and my mom's compassion pulled him through. Although it was a terrible thing to endure, I think it ended up making our family closer.

I am obviously thankful for my family and friends, but I am also thankful to be who I am. I am glad that I can use my keen sense of understanding and awareness to help others through their issues. The world is so cold and obstructed with ignorance and greed, but there are still decent and understanding people holding it together. Finally, I am thankful for David, the staff/moderators, and everyone who helps make Vizzed possible.

thing1 : Yes, but I don't know how thankful I would be about the Army. They are mostly government toys that end up dead or neglected after being lied to by recruiters. You may think that you are helping your country and protecting your loved ones, but you're pretty much forced to do the government's dirty work, like it or not. Good luck in there, regardless. There can be good benefits if you don't end up in the brig or get cheated out of what they promise you. Just keep your eyes open, and be safe; it doesn't happen to everyone, but it does happen.

Also, you forgot your trial :/

GuardianZack : my trial would be better left off unsaid. And i joined the Army for the paycheck and because  my father has been in for twenty-six years... I  wanted to follow in his footstdps, among other various reasons.

Hi GuardianZack, sorry for your loss.  This year for me was kind of hard, but i'm glad i was able to work when it came in. I look back at the summer and it was so hot i really didn't want to do out door stuff but now that the cooler season is here i try to get out and about doing something fun.

thing1 : Don't get me wrong; we need a military for protection, and I admire those who join for the right reasons, but it is our government that is corrupt and often ends up using its people out of greed. It isn't the Army that I have a problem with, it's the ones who control it I despise. Soldiers get mistreated and end up having to deal with a lot more than what they should or expect to.

First off I'm sorry to hear about your cat and dog dying.

Secondly, I'm thankful for finding another job before my next car month payment is due (otherwise I was screwed since I couldn't pay if I didn't get a new job). Also I'm thankful for family (kind of obvious).

GuardianZack : Thats weird I lost my cat and dog last year like a week a part from each other and then a couple weeks later I lost one of my grandmothers and my girlfriend of two years. They were really hard to go through but it brought me and my family and friends closer together as well. They really helped me cope with everything and helped me keep going because honestly I just wanted to give up on life entirely.

I'm thankful for my family, friends and the job I currently have. I feel after I went through so much loss in my life, it is finally getting back on track and I can honestly say I'm happy now, granted I still do miss all the people and pets I lost. I'm thankful for the new opportunities ahead of me and I'm hoping I can shape my life into something great. I do know that no matter what happens though my family and friends will be there to support me.

XxEzraxX : Thanks for being there for me man.

Trial: WOO MY DAD'S LOST HIS JOB AND SHIZ. Oh and school and such.
Good Stuff: Getting on the football team and the wrestling team. (Gay, amrite?) Personal achievements which feel good because I used to view myself as a fat, lazy neckbeard lounging around, growing so fat until someone had to use a bulldozer to move him.

I'm thankful for a decent forum finally.. Real talk. I've cycled through a lot because of things that either happened or things that I didn't agree with and so on. I don't see anything but greatness on here. Everything is really close together and organized. The level is system is very cool it makes me want to post more and more! Plus there is quite a bit of decent threads too choose from, and posts to creep on mwhaha. Not to mention the thousands of game I can play, with Netplay thrown into the mix.  I just hope this itching feeling in the back of my head of a sort of cold shouldering will go away. But I'm paranoid so it could be me.
I'm thankful for the Navy finally being able to work with me on somethings and for a call I got about a job as a stock boy and maybe a deli employee. Also that my car some how runs everyday. I don't know how much longer it's got but it's lasted me a long time and I bought it for 1,200 so you can imagine how lame it is.

Sameel : Around here where I live $1200 would get you a pretty decent car. My brother goes through cars left and right and roughly pays under a $1000 for them and sells them for about what he pays for them. He's had some pretty nice cars like Ford Probes and Mazda MX6's. But anyways congratulations on the opportunity of becoming a stock boy or deli employee. They're both not bad jobs and good luck with whatever the Navy is offering you, just remember no matter what you're doing just try to enjoy it and make the most out of that experience.

RealBrickz : Anytime dude, thanks for being there for me I could always talk to you and actually have you listen to me instead of belittling me and telling me what I should do.

What I'm really thankful for, is the three best friends I have. Two are on here RealBrickz and Wizzerderd, the last one doesn't get on here but is my loving girlfriend. Those three people are always there for me, and I know that no matter what kind of trouble I happen to get into I can always turn to one of them. They really mean more to me, than they probably know.

Whoa, that's deep. I am so sorry.

I to am thankful. I am thankful for my family, having a roof over my head and being able to eat.

This has been a very rough year for me all in all. Getting beat up in school, house almost being burnt to cripes, being homeless and having to live with other family members, and my mom having a vicious heart attack.

Sometimes I wonder if I can even do it anymore. But I can't take the easy way out of life. It wouldn't feel right to me, and I probably won't know being as I would be dead.

Sites like this cheers me up... for a while.

But that's all personal. Mostly I am thankful to still be breathing.
