I believe what Sylvia Browne says: People tend to be more gender more than the other (ie, some would be a guy more than a girl). The sex you like depends on the sex you are more. If you're a guy more, you'll like girls, even if you're a girl. If you're a girl more, you'll like guys, even if you're a guy.
I don't see anything wrong with gays. You like who you like. Just because they're gay doesn't mean that they're after every man's penis. They like who they like, just as straight guys like who they like. As long as they don't come onto me, I'll be fine with them.

I support gays *cough becauseiamonecough* but right now the whole "support us" and "defend us all the time" thing is getting out of hand. There are now thoughts of passing a 'thought police' bill in the US; Congress wants to jail and punish anyone who states their opinion if it's harmful. I think people have the right to verbally speak against what they don't support, as long as they don't physically harm the people they're against.
Anyway, the festivals as DM says are too much. There's one pride festival a year where I live, which I'm going to; it's in June, but I know a lot of places that have several or even a dozen a year.

They're trying to make it illegal to discriminate against gay people which means, gay bashing = a fine.
What's crazy about this is, you get in trouble for discriminating against gay people but people are encouraged to discriminate against Christians. I get discriminated against more often than the average gay person and I see offensive stuff toward Christians all over the internet, why is that OK to do but saying something as simple as "I don't agree with gay marriage" is looked down upon (and probably illegal eventually)? What's getting sick about America is that if you're a conservative, you're not allowed to have your own opinion on anything and you're not given any freedom of speech. IF you're a liberal on the other hand, you can get away with almost anything. The problem began when we let the Media take over and to tell us how to think. They determine right from wrong and for those who are weak minded, they are the ones who have been influenced by it the most. There's a new Segregation going on and it's against Christians.

It's been pretty sick. I agree with a lot of the Davideo said. While holding a Christian world view isn't in the minority yet, it seems like in the media it is looked down upon. It's not about freedom of speech anymore.... it's about "politcal correctness" which means - agree with us or we'll rip you apart until you no longer have any credibility.

Well, I don't think it would be a crime to say that you don't think that gays should marry, but it would be a crime to bash them as it is a crime to say horrible things about people of a certain race or religion. I also have noticed that the conservative viewpoint is being more and more frowned upon in society which is unfair. However, it is fair for the majority of people to disagree with that viewpoint provided they don't suppress it. Sadly, now people are trying to suppress it. -------------------- |

I agree with Davideo and Geeogree. I was having a discussion a few days ago with many of my friends who represent many different colleges campuses across the region. They all agreed that they were not getting a "balanced" education and that many professors infer that any viewpoint is accaptable except the Christian viewpoint, which is intolerant of others. just a quick point, it isn't discrimination against christians, but more so against conservatives.

There are tribes in the world where gender roles are completely reversed from what we deem as "normal" but it does not make the heterosexual men and women any less heterosexual.

But why does a group that is nearly indistiguishable (that was not spelled correctly) from any other group in society need protection above and beyond what anyone else has?
I'm not saying that people don't discriminate based on sexual orientation, but can you prove it? Are we going to have affirmative action for gays and lesbians now? If you have more than 10 employees then at least 1 must be gay? I feel the same about racism as I do about homosexuality.... it's talked about too much. It's never going to go away. But when you get a tiny portion of either side getting time on TV and radio you don't get solutions you just stir the pot even more than it was before. I think we need to spend more time just living life and less time arguing about what a hate crime is or coming up with policies like affirmative action which only seem to keep these issues on the forefront. Shouldn't equality exist without it having to be an "issue" for people?
