Cyndaquil Mainly because of its design,stat spread and because its the only fully evolved fire type.
It starts out looking all cute then turns into a ferocious giant flaming rat with fire around its neck whats not to like?
And the fact that its not another fire fighting type is just another reason to love it (seriously fire fighting types were cool at first now theyre just getting overrepetetive).

Some other starters i like are:Totodile,Piplup,Treecko and Snivy for similar reasons.

All of the starters are great, but I have to choose Torchic. I love how it looks. It's final form, Blaziken, is my favorite Pokemon of all time. It knows my favorite move, Blaze Kick.
