Once, there was a teenager nicknamed Rasenganfan2. He lived in (insert state here) and was a normal kid. However, he had an extreme love with Macs that would never die. Because of this, he researched them, and just loved them.
He once told his mom just how he could get a Mac without actually spending money. The teen said "I could sell my laptop on Ebay for about $1500." His mother said "No one would buy your laptop for that much!"The boy had just remembered something he saw on Ebay a few months ago. He said in response to his mother "Mom, someone bought an old desktop with an 80gig HDD and 512megs of RAM" The boy continued,"It sold for $1200.And I found in the comments 'Thanks for the great deal!'" His mother said "I'll think about it."
The boy is ecstatic!! He knows he might just get a Mac soon. He can't wait to hear his mom's decision. He wants to hear a "Yes" so badly, he can't hardly stand it!
The boy then posts this onto Vizzedboard, to hear his friends' thoughts on the subject. He eagerly awaits your responses!

Macs are $1500? wow, but personally I'm a windows guy, but if you want a mac and you can get the money, do it up!

I doubt you'll get $1500 for whatever computer you currently own.... but it wouldn't hurt to sell sometihng in order to earn some of the money you need.

It's a really rare fluke that something worthless goes for a lot of money on ebay and when it happens, it's funny how everyone acts as though it happens to everyone.

But the realty with ebay is, people are either shopping on there to either find something rare, or to get a good deal. There's no way you're getting $1500 for your laptop unless it less than a year old and you got it for $2000+.

Now tell us the specs of this mac and also the specs of your laptop, I'm willing to bet 10,000 Viz the windows laptop is way more powerful because the problem with macs is, you gotta pay twice as much on a mac to have something equally as powerful as a windows pc.

OK then... PC: Gateway Model: M-1625. Mac: There isn't a model number... just go here and look at it. The one I have my eye on is the highest grade normal Macbook. It's the "Next Generation". Best part: The Next Generation is eco friendly and it's highly recyclable. A recycled computer...that'd be a sight to see!

I wish you the best of luck but I don't expect your pc to go for $1500.

It's less than a year old, has 2gigs of RAM, 250gig HDD, has no problems, comes with Windows 7. I think it'll sell. The reason why I'm gonna sell it at $1500 is because the highest level macbook is $1500. It's even better than my laptop! It has the same HDD and all that, but it has other features. You can see what I mean

So.. You're gonna insanely overprice a laptop to buy another insanely overpriced laptop?

Also, you do know that for 1500 you could easily build a PC that would be able to play anything that comes out in the nest 3 years on maxes settings?

My computer I had built with HP and I got it for $1350 and it's more than twice as powerful as the Mac you want.

Eco friendly? WTF?? Now you're just trying to use the lamest excuses to justify buying something that's already outdated.

The one I got with HP, both the 22 inch monitor and the computer itself are both energy efficient and have the energy star.

Macs are made out of 1 block of Aluminum, uses LED backlighting, and other things eco friendly. That's also the first time I've seen you not be serious. Nice to see you relax for once

Well this post is kinda old but I'm good with computers so I'll give my two bits of advice. $1500 for a non custom computer on apple's behalf is because they only own about 4% of the market and cant afford to be cheaper, and they also think that people would pay that much for their new design. In reality mac's and apple per say is much over rated. Being a "computer geek" I really cant judge the two systems, but I will say this. Apple severely limits user customization with their product, and because of that they can severely jack up prices of the same product that could be found on a windows for less.
Now as for looks yes its very neat and very thin, yet you can do that with any laptop. Eco friendliness I would say isn't much a strong point either since all of them are either aluminum or plastic...much like every other computer. Now I'm not a laptop person, since desktops always will be more powerful, yet they are useful since I need one for carrying around.
If your really looking for a good computer apple wouldn't be bad, but a better way to go would to get a custom PC from lets say Toshiba or if you know how to build one kudos. Since all Macs now run on Intel just get two hard drives or 1 that has a duel partition so you can have both windows and Mac OSX if that's what you're really looking for. Just because only apple has the OSX does not mean it can't be put on other computers. It just so happens that Apple owns the license and forbids other companies from doing so.
