Some games i grew up with were the Jak and dexter series, the ratchet and clank, and Kingdom hearts

DroneScout and BluemageKyle and wingedangel999: I don't care for platformers, which is why I never could get into the non-rpg Mario games... I feel like such a 'noob' confessing that I don't like one of nintendo's most popular game series. However I could give Jak a try.

ericxtreme : I don't understand how I could like any of those games, except God of War 2. Thanks for the suggestions anyways though, I don't like fighter games or racing games, and Snes Station? I googled it, and didn't find anything besides an emulator.

Crazy Li : I was able to try Persona, specifically just Persona 3, not the FES one. So far I'm liking most of it, such as the fact that it seems like a lot of story, and I'm sensing tons of character development. Plus it seems like a life simulator, which is interesting, and I like the fighting style. One thing I don't care for though is I think that shadows continue to reappear on levels. For example I'll be walking through, clearing it out, and then I'll turn back around to leave, and some shadows are back again. That kind of bugs me, since I'm a bit of a perfectionist and like to be able to clear dungeons, not to mention if I have my team split up it makes it a little more dangerous.

michelle1091 : You could try Jak 2 or Jak 4. Other games include Burnout and Mega Man X4-X6

megamanmaniac : There was a Jak 4?! I could have swore that the series ended at 3 (I don't count the racing game). Jak 2 sounds good to try out as Jak 3 was a sequel to Jake 2 and she might be confused in terms of story.

Oldschool41 : Actually I think that Jak 4 was the racing game.

megamanmaniac : I thought that might be the case. Then I would still say that Jak 2 should be played first since Jak 3 and definitly Jak 4 would be very confusing in terms of story, characters, and combat (since Jak 4 had a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT combat system).

michelle1091 : Yes, story and character development is one of the strong points of Persona games. Persona 3 has a really good story. Persona 4 in my opinion has an even better one and a better cast of characters... though both games have good character development.

The thing that bugged me most about Persona 3 is that you can't control any of your allies and most of the time they do stupid things. This is fixed in Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4.

As for the shadows re-appearing... this is in case you wanted to grind. The only way you can level up is by fighting shadows so they have to provide you with an infinite amount in case you need to gain more levels. I bothers me too because I like to fight every enemy in an area once and move on... but I understand why developers do this. You don't want to force the player to leave entirely and come back just to fight more battles and gain EXP.

Crazy Li : Not to mention get back the Persona Cards after you have fused them together. Cause while getting ESP is important, getting newer more powerful Persona's help out with...

1. Persona abilities since enemies gain immunity to certain elements later on the game (partiulary the King and Queen boss battles).

2. Just because they are addicting to collect and they level up as you gain ESP also (plus they play other roles with relationships and some missions).

Oldschool41 : A valid point... you want to be able to gain new Personas... and you need Persona to make Personas... if you go to the Velvet Room for fusion, you're consuming you Personas and maybe you want one back for another fusion... or you might just wanna give yourself more options for the fusions. The bonuses you gain after battle can be extremely handy, so that's another reason to want shadows around.

michelle1091 :  A good game for the PS2 that I think you might like is the Jak and Daxter series. It is an adventure game, and the game is really fun to play a lot, but difficult at the same time.

Crazy Li : I understand what you said about needing to give players an infinite amount, but something they could have done is at least make the shadows non-aggressive. They chase me and I guess I played Earthbound too often, but I don't like to run away.

michelle1091 : Well as your characters level up more, Shadows will start to run away from you. So they do become non-aggressive later on, but that is only if your going through the older levels.

Give Fahrenheit a try if you come across.

michelle1091 : you came to the right person. I liked the DBZ seris and some ratchet and clank, You should get a mortal combat game but it has a lot of blood, a gutiar hero game, go with # 3 lengends of rock.
omg do you like mega man? then you soulfd get mega man and the x collection. theres also sonic mega colection and sonic unleshed, simsons road rage.

One huge ps2 game I recommend is Dark Cloud the story was amazing the dungeon type thing was awesome especially when you have to find a certain key and the enemies were getting weirder and cooler. There was a few characters to play as each with their own type of weapon with 1000s of weapons, attachments and items out there and the boss seems to be harmless well guess what CHUBBY IS POWERFUL! The game is awesome I haven't seen Dark Cloud 2 yet I'm planning to find out more about it but I heard that its really good! I cant wait!

I am a huge crash bandicoot fan. You should check his PS2 games out.

Jak 1-3. Avoid 4. Nuff said.

Well, I know some good ones. Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 are really good. Also, Final Fantasy X (10) is also good. I understand if RPGs are not your type though.
