Hey I reviewed NCAA, now it is time for Madden 2005.
I didn't play 2004, so I will not be able to compare them.

Graphics: The graphics are done very well. During a game some player's jerseys will have grass stains on them. Players faces look real. The close ups of the 2 or 3 superfans are a nice touch. The animations are lifelike. Graphics get a 9.

Presentation: The menus are well done and easy to use. The really cool part is in Franchise mode, as you go a long you can see what your team's local paper and the national paper might say. And there is a sort of radio broadcast, like after my first pre-season game, the radio personality started talking about how one of my players was battling for the HB position.
Presentation gets a 10.

Gameplay and controls: There are several cool things here. The big hit stick (c stick) can make the player you tackle fumble. Playmakers can change the direction of a run play, or tell the closest reciever running down the field to go straight or to the left etc. ,or when you are running with the ball you can direct the closest player to block a direction for you. The only gripe here is now when you have the ball you can't hurdle. Gameplay gets a 9.

Sound: I didn't care for the music that was in the game, but that is a matter of taste. The commentary is done relatively well and the sound effects are good. The music that comes on between plays and during time outs is a nice touch. Not much else to say here. Sound gets an 8.5.

Life: If you like professional style football this will last you a while. You can go through franchise mode for quite a while (not sure how many years). And multiplayer will last too. Life gets a 9.5.

Overall 8.7/ 10. not an average.
It is a good game, I just thought NCAA was better. Also, I couldn't find a place above, but when you create a team, you can't edit their roster(unless you choose a fantasy and draft your entire team) in any mode besides franchise mode. That is kind of annoying.
