Best Starting Pokemon

 
Which Starting Pokemon was the best in their debut generation? Don't say Charmander if you didn't like him in Red, but like him in Black or White, because of new moves. Choose your favorite evolutionary line from the first generation they were in.

I would say that I loved the first generation starters the most, but Cyndaquil in the second generation stood out to me and so did Mudkip in the third generation.

I was a fan of the water starters after a while, Charmander was great because he became charizard but after a while I began to enjoy leveling everyone up rather than the starters. I'm pretty sure my new Pokémon games have my starters like 20 levels behind xD but when you appreciate the other Pokémon you can get you start to level them all up
