If you could create one object, what would it be? What would you call it? What would it's function be? How often would you intend to use it? What gave you the idea?

Personally, I'd want to create a laptop adapter that allowed me to plug Nintendo 64 cartridges into my laptop for playing. That'd be epic, don't you think? The name would be simple - "Nintendo 64 - Laptop Adapter." I'd probably need more than one because I'd wear it out. I miss my Nintendo 64 games...

I'd create a cheap, simple manner of making water potable around the world.  Unclean water is easily the most pressing issue for health and humanity.  Having clean drinking water would stop the deaths of uncountable numbers of people in Africa, Asia, eastern Europe, South America, and the rest of the globe.

warmaker :

I think that would do people a huge, huge favor. I certainly enjoy my nice clean water, when I get some anyhow. (lol... I mostly drink soda because our water is unfiltered.)

redjj :

I think we all want to create a cure for cancer. But I don't think a "cure" falls under object. I suppose it goes anyhow, though. Is there anything else that you want to create?

To everyone:

You don't have to pick one item, necessarily. It is a hypothetical thread after all.

Why a time machine? What would you do with the time machine? Why did you pick a time machine? What motivates you to want the usage of a time machine? Are you wanting to go forward into the future or backwards into the past?

iSPY! :

Then I have the same questions for you as Red: why? What would you use the clones for?

redjj :

Oh! I see. That makes sense. So would you take the cure back to the past to help people survive to the future? Or would you just go... idk, live in the past?

Wow the good ones are gone! Anyway I'd create a pair of pants that would adjust instantly to the wearers waist and height size no matter what size they might be.   Simply put now you wouldn't have to go out and buy a new pair because you might've gotten a little taller, or because you might've had too many doughnuts.   This would save us money on buying new pairs, especially over the course of the growing stage kids have.   It would come In Youth and Adult styles, and in various colors.   The only need to get a new pair would be if you wore them out.   The only issue would be to give it a reasonable price so those who are less fortunate can get them as well, maybe make it so people in Africa get them donated or some other way to get those who need something to keep them warm can get them without having to spend everything to get them.  And with the cornerstone on that part of the market I wouldn't charge you 100 bucks a pop for them either like some designers do.   Why spend 80 bucks on jeans? Maybe make it 15.99 a pair in the US and I don't know 10.99 in Euro's? They would be called the Everfit!

That would be rather cool to have. I know I'd definitely bite, anyhow. It'd be nice not having to worry about whether or not my jeans will fit. Of course, for me... that's not really a problem x.x

For some people its not a real problem your right, I mean when you grew up would probably at this point be the only point in time it would be a problem.   But for us who have non-steady waist sizes it would be a problem.  Nevermind the fact that almost every brand of pants has different versions of the same size.  You could try on a pair of Levi's and find the same size in Lee's to be tight or too loose.  I do appreciate the comment though I'm actually surprised I had an idea for this one, maybe I am a little more creative than I thought

Deadman9001 :

Yeah, you'd be surprised at what can pop out of your mind given the right stimuli. As far as the sizing thing goes - that drives me crazy. It should be universal, period. Thankfully, there's the one trick that works rather well. (They generally fit if you can align the side edge with your front button and be able to go all the way around to create a line from the button to your back)

I'm not sure. I have thought of designing a flying board to travel to destinations in an interesting way, or creating a organization to help assist really poor neighbors by bringing businesses to that area, classes that will help teach information that will be essential for the community (building houses, learning more about taxes, etc.). I don't think the second idea is a good one due to money and participants to help. :/

A flying board, huh? Like a hoverboard? I bet it'd be fun to learn how to ride one of those. XD As far as the second idea goes: it's a good idea but not feasible because of the reasons you stated. Money will always be a problem as well as participants. But this thread isn't about feasibility; it's entirely hypothetical.

I'm going to extend the topic of this thread to include any and all idea, instead of just objects.

Well, I would create a customizable T-Shirt... Basically you would be able to pick the design and colors you want on it, and, change them everytime you want!

Pretty useful for when you want to buy a T-Shirt, but you can't decide for one.

P.S: Your idea of an adapter to play N64 games on a laptop reminded me of this:

That's an USB adapter to play SNES and Sega Genesis games on a Laptop.

I would create a cell phone app that allows for people to test their blood sugar. I don't have a name, but I would call it Heartring. Its main function is to allow for people with diabetes or those who don't to test their blood sugar to now what level it is. I got the idea because my dad has diabetes and I see him with that little blood sugar test thing and I just thought of it as a cellphone app or at least a cellphone accessory. Could maybe work on your Iphone or Ipod, but it doesn't matter as long as it can test your blood sugar.
