I would say salamance since it could learn a variety of moves and its speed stat is way high up for a dragon type allowing it to attack first.

I like Salamance better because when I was playing diamond it was the first Pokemon of mine to finish the battle tower while Tyranitar just doesn't  do justice

I can't pick between the two. Honestly, I like both but I would not really have either one in my team to play with. I prefer smaller Pokemon that don't dwarf me when I use them. But more seriously... if I had to choose, Tyranitar would get my vote for coolness and Salamence would get my vote for usefulness.

I don't use both of these Pokémon because they are always spammed during wifi play. I always see them every now and than and it gets very annoying. Cause of that reason I don't use them myself. But they are both good Pokémon to use. I tend to use Pokémon that other people don't use to see if they can be handy to my team strategy . But if I had to chose out of the two it would have to be Salamence, simply because he is a strong dragon type Pokémon that can learn many moves. I'm not really a person that uses rock type Pokémon unless they are really handy to use.
