I'm a big fan of the old zombie flicks, mainly Romero's originals with Dawn of the Dead being my favorite and Lucio Fulci's Zombie being a pretty close second. I'm always looking for others but they often fall short for me.

So I'm posting this in the hopes that I can find some good Zombie flicks that will stand up to those old ones. I also liked 28 days/weeks later, so I would be more than happy to hear about some newer ones as well. Oh, and how could I forget Shaun of the Dead. That was pure gold!

So, what is your personal Favorite?

The Shaun of the dead movie was funny and good. My favorite one was probably the remake of the original "Dawn of the dead" the movie was well made and the horror was fantastic.

Hmm good Zombie movies, let me think, well the original Night of the Living Dead is pretty good, for a black and white movie. If you like comedy with horror, Zombieland is pretty good too. And of the Resident Evil movies are pretty good. I'm not a huge zombie fan, otherwise I'd post more.

Shaun of the Dead is my favorite for sure; Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are the most fantastic people to ever exist.

I also like Dawn of the Dead (The newer one where they're in the mall for most of the movie), Zombie Land, Land of the Dead, and the first three Resident Evil movies. I haven't seen any past Extinction, and I was disappointed because they're so different from the games (Which have such a bomb story line, it's a shame...) but if you don't compare the two they're good movies in their own right.

I also enjoyed 28 Days Later. I think, is that the first one? I don't remember it too much but it was pretty good, I'd like to see it again, and the sequel.

I personally am not a big fan of the Romero remakes, I prefer the old fashion slow zombies for the most part, although the Rage virus was definitely very cool. The last Resident Evil movie I watched was the one with Nemesis and I was a little disappointed with how he was portrayed. All my own opinion of course.

So how about some more obscure ones? Anyone have any suggestions?

Not entirely obscure, but Return of the Living Dead's a fantastic zombie flick often overlooked due to the Romero films. Of course Dawn of the Dead ('78) and Night of the Living Dead (original B&W version) are my favorite zombie movies, but RotLD definitely deserves a mention among non-Romero zombie classics, ad does Shaun of the Dead.

There are a ton of zombie films out there, some good and some bad,I enjoy all Romero ones like most people, but one I enjoyed recently was Flight Of The Living Dead, zombies on a plane basically, very entertaining.
But a zombie classic has to be the original Dawn Of The Dead or the Hammer horror Plague Of The Zombies.

That is not really a horror film, but my favourite with zombies: Peter Jackson's Braindead
But Dawn of the Dead is awesome too!

With all these "Dawn of the Dead"s, I'm gonna have to break the mold and go with ... DANG IT Dead Snow is taken too. Hmm, so is "28 Days Later". *think*think*think*, *sifts through zombie movie knowledge* here we go, "Zombies Anonymous". Not really classic, but good.

The Dawn Of The Deads, Night Of The Living Dead, Dead Snow, The Resident Evils (especially the latest one) are all great (in my opinion) but I also love the Evil Dead movies - some of those scenes have me roaring my head off!
And a special mention also goes to the Re-Animator movies - Jeffery Combs is one of my favourite actors

I saw Return of the Dead a while ago, definitely remember liking it. I'll have to re watch that for sure. Flight of the Living Dead was OK I thought, I did appreciate the originality of it for sure. I've never heard of Plague of the Zombies but I will definitely have to check that out as it sounds right up my alley. Dead Snow cracked me up, another one I could watch again for sure. How can you beat Nazi zombies right. 28 Day later was fantastic I thought. Never heard of Zombies Anonymous but I will definitely check that out. I loved the Re-animator movies, definitely a zombie motif there for sure.

Thanks a lot for all of these great suggestions all. I have a couple of new Zombie flicks to check out now, Sweet!
