For a few months now I've had it so that newbies have to make at least 1 post in order to remove the ads from the Java emulated game window. This resulted into a lot of newbies introducing themselves but it might've also resulted into a lot of extra spam. It was also done to help increase site revenue.

For the time being, this is no longer the case. There will probably be a lot less people introducing themselves now.

It was definitely a tough move though since it means less revenue when the site has already taken a huge revenue drop from Google disabling ads on the site. Hopefully the move will pay off in the long run though.

That's pretty much the effect of it all.

The mods will appreciate not having to deal with a million spam threads by newbies who just want to disable ads, which is about 90% of everyone who posts in the newbie forum.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.
