RGR error with super mario bros

When I try to play Super Mario Bros with the RGR(including high score and speed run) I get an error message saying "The copy game you have loaded Super Mario Bros is bad and will not work properly on FCE ultra."  After I click ok and start the game I'm sent to an incomplete able under water version of one of the castle levels. Can someone please help me with this, I want to compete for speed run and high score.

Retroboy : I've got the same problem as well! Have you tried uninstalling the RGR Plugin and installing it again and what Internet Browser are you using right now?

Well, I also got this error before the latest RGR update. I'm using Internet Explorer 9.

EDIT: found out that if you hold A then press start in the title screen the game will start normally at 1-1
