Since I haven't seen a more recent Doctor Who thread, I decided to post one. I'm still waiting for the newest episode to start (for me it's at 9pm) so if you're going to post anything from the show that are spoilers please remember to use the spoiler tags, or to not post at all, please. Anyway, the main purpose of this thread is for all things from the Whoniverse (both classic and the revived 2005+ series). Just keep in mind that some people (like me, as I have only seen the newer series) may have seen one and not the other. Talk about anything Who, favorite episode, characters, storyline, etc.

I love doctor who. I'll be honest and say that i haven't had the time to really watch any of the recent episodes though . I mean who doesn't like doctor who

I'll probably have to get on that soon and buy a box set and watch them all in a mass sitting

Ahh, I love Doctor Who, and I have ever since I saw Pyramids of Mars, which is actually a pretty zany episode. I like the new show and all, I think it's pretty great, but I really love the original series, especially the Tom Baker era Doctor. Honestly, until Blink, the episode with the Weeping Angels, I thought Tom Baker was the best Doctor and nobody could ever replace him as King of All Doctor, but around that time David Tennant surpassed him. But of course, how could he not?

This is easily my favorite show to watch right now, in fact I'm even starting to like the current Doctor.

However, 10 will always be my favorite, if for nothing else than his comedic obliviousness.

Doctor Who is pretty awesome. I was first introduced to it a couple years ago with the episode from season one (2005) called "Daleks." Even after watching that episode at the time I felt that it was not too important to get caught up with the show and join the craze. However, I was convinced a couple months ago to start watching them all. I realized that my initial assumption couldn't have been more wrong. Everyone needs to watch Doctor Who. lol Along with Lazlo and my friend that finally convinced me, "Blink" seems to be a favorite episode. I think Smith is a decent Doctor so far, but Tennant's Doctor is my favorite. Smith doesn't seem to care as much to me. Maybe it was 3 seasons of Tennant overacting, but he left a better impression, I think.

I really like Doctor Who! The original series is kind of irritating to me but I understand how someone can like it. I just don't really have the patience to watch a lot of older shows (I'm what's wrong with society). So, I started watching with Eccleson, fell in love with David Tennant, and you know what? I like Matt Smith too. He's got a different vibe than the last two seemed to have but he has a certain charm that I think is befitting of the Doctor.

I'm really disappointed in how Amy turned out though. I liked her a lot in the beginning, but then they really exaggerated her character and now she just seems like a big dumb brute who you're supposed to ooo and awww for when she finally gets her head out of her ass and appreciates her dumb, bumbling boyfriend/husband. It's just been done to death. She was my favorite but now I guess it's back to Martha, haha. Rose wasn't so bad, and she got a lot of great episodes. Donna was intolerable, and she got all the best episodes... freakin' Donna.

Also, I'm just going to leave this here:

retrokid12 : Did it make you want to watch more (if you haven't already)? lol like i said, it didn't have that effect on me, but I advise all who are even slightly interested after watching an ep or two to watch the first season and then you'll be hooked! lol can't spoil anything, but that's not the last you hear of Daleks. what a tenacious race!

I love Doctor Who. I've been watching through the 2005 reboot lately. I'm almost finished Series 5. It's awesome, but I prefer the classic series. The Second and Fourth Doctors (Patrick Troughton and Tom Baker, respectively) are my favorites. David Tennant is my favorite of the reboot.

I actually haven't seen much of the show but what I have seen I like. I just finished season 6. In fact most of the episodes I have seen are with Matt Smith. I don't have tv so I have to wait for the dvd to come out before I can even start with season seven. I was first introduced to the show when my dad bought the Third Doctor story "Frontier in Space". I have been hooked on the series ever since.

I love Doctor Who. I've tried to watch classic Doctor Who but I am more fond of Doctors 9,10, and 11. I've watched up to series 6 on Netflix but I have to wait for the rest to come online legally before I can watch it since I don't have cable.

KG : You didn't like Donna? She was my favorite! She did get all the good episodes though, I'll give you that.

My mom loves the classic Dr Who's (She likes the one with the long scarf) but I find them fairly boring. The reboot has been fun though. Every new Doctor makes me long for the last one, but eventually I find myself liking them anyway. It's just hard to get used to a new one, I guess.

How do you all feel about Riversong? I didn't like her at first either, but she's kind of grown on me.

I just got into Doctor Who, starting with the first season of the 2006 show.

I enjoy the 9th Doctor so far, he's funny.

I love Dr. Who. I prefer the new shows to the older ones, but I can't really pick a favorite Doctor. I loved Donna the best out of any of his companions, but Rory and Amy were cool.

I missed the Christmas Special though. I'm so angry at myself. I know it'll be on again, but I hate that I missed it.

Anyone have any idea who the next companion is going to be? I've heard rumors, but nothing solid.

I started watching Doctor Who really late (Matt Smith was already on when I started watching Eccleston) but have recently (after 3 all night marathons) have caught up. I must say that Doctor Who is the only show I have ever watched that has made me laugh tears of fear.

With all of the companion controversy up here, I thought I would put my two cents in. Everybody liked Donna Noble, but honestly, what did she do? People liked her because she was loud, annoying, and slapped the Doctor. People are so quick to forget about Martha Jones; the woman who had the balls to love the Doctor, even though she knew she was a rebound girl. The woman who travelled all the world, not knowing whether her family was alive or dead, for a whole year, telling the story of the Doctor so that he could have the power to escape. Martha Jones was the most important woman in all of the Doctor's life, arguably more than Rose, she forced him to realize that even though it hurts, sometimes you have to let them close. She was the only companion to leave the Doctor willingly, and for that she has my respect.
TL;DR: Donna sucks, Martha was better.

Since my last post, I've watched every episode in the new series up to "Angels in Manhattan".

I plan on watching all of Tom Baker and Peter Davison after this.

Doctor Who is one of the greatest shows ever.

I love Doctor Who. My favorite doctor is David Tennant. My favorite companion is Rose Tyler (I know a lot of people don't like her but I do). My favorite episode has to be the girl in the fireplace and my favorite enemy is the Daleks or the weeping angels. I haven't gotten a chance to watch the classic Doctor Who so I can't give real feedback on that but am wholeheartedly a whovian.
