I mostly play Mario games,  so I choose Mario, but I have played Sonic too and his games are also great.

For example, in sonic lost world, sonic goes slow and doesn't run unless you hold down "R". And Mario games these days with a few exertions, is just pretty much the same graphics and story, but with different levels (I'm talking about you new super Mario bros)
