Well, if you're going by Brawl standards, I would choose Link for his versatility. Among the three, he has the most broad range of weapons to choose from.

Mario came first, but I think Link is more recognized by hardcore gamers. When you thin Nintendo you think Mario, though I personally think Legend of Zelda  has makes for a better game.

When it comes to nostalgia I'm pretty split. I've played all three of the original games these characters appeared in, and I've played some of the newer ones that happen to feature them.

Overall, my vote goes to Link.

To me is link my favorite out of the three.he has a cool sword and shield and zelda is one of my favorite games of all time here.

Link would have to be the best. Mario is a good character, but there isn't much to him. Sonic is great as well, but all he has to his name is Speed. Link has several different weapons, armors, and stories. 

What a difficult choice since I appreciate them all equally.
Well, my answer is none. I don't see any character better than the other, I see them all a precious piece of my childhood that made a great impact on fictional game characters that has been around for years.

It really depends on what you mean by better, there are too many definitions to cover, so I'll limit myself to three.

Character wise, I find Sonic very irritating, Mario bland, and Link only slightly less so. In saying that, Link was designed to be that way. He is a character who is supposed to have the player personality pushed onto him. There are one or two Links that show more personality than others though and as such I'd give him the round.

In a fight, I can't see Mario doing much unless he gets a power star. I don't know too much about Sonic beyond his speed. Really depends on what incarnation Link it is and whether he has the reactions to fight Sonic. I doubt most can, so I'd go Sonic here.

Finally, games. Now in my opinion, there is only one winner here, and that is Link. Sure, the old Sonic ones were fun, and Mario has a huge variety, but neither series' pulls me back into the universe and mythos time and again like The Legend of Zelda. For that reason I give my overall vote to Link.
