The first pokemon i would catch would be a starly. Why? Because its one of the easiest pokemon to catch.
After i catch this pokemon i will raise it to a staravia, so then hopefully i could carry me around alot of places.
Then Once it evolves into a staraptor i will  fight with it and catch other pokemons.

Being realistic, starting off small, without the help of any of the 3 starters, I would probably have to go with a Pollywag because I would eventually want a Pollytoad with grimey water/ice/fighting attacks. Also, Hypnosis  is a grimey attack.

I'm surprised nobody said Ghastly yet.

I'm going to be unrealistic. The first pokemon I would catch is Mewtwo. He's a awesome legend in my opinion. I like his move set and he was a perfect pokemon for me in Pokemon soul silver. I trained him these TMS, Earthquake, Ice beam, Physic and lightning, Those made me beat Red easily so yeah...

Well of course I would attempt to catch them all, but I think the first Pokémon I would go after is Pikachu, mainly because I would really want a Raichu (my favorite Pokémon) but I would want to raise it to evolve myself instead of finding a wild Raichu.
