This is a new feature I just added. When you submit a screenshot to the game pages of vizzed, you can now choose a category and for some categories, a sub category.

So for example, lets say you take a screenshot of you playing level 1-1 of Super Mario Bros, you'd set the category to Level and the Sub Category to 1-1. Another example, lets say you take a screenshot of all the playable characters on Mario Kart, you'd pick 'Character Select' as the Category.

When you click the 'User Screenshots' from up above, it'll show all the user submitted screenshots in a more organized way; here's an example:

The goal is to make it so when users search for screenshots, they'll be more organized to look through. It'll take a while before all screenshots get organized but this is a good start. I should also point out that the screenshots in the Level category will be in order as well so if you wanted to see all the screenshots of all the levels for a game in order, you can do that as long as someone has taken the screenshots and organized them.

The categories that users can choose from include: Level, Location, Menus, Introduction, Cut-Scene, Ending, World Map, Misc, Character Select, Level Select, Mode Select, Game Select. My next post will give more information about each category.

Site Staff : Just letting you guys know that you now have the ability to assign user submitted screenshots to categories. You also have the ability to delete user submitted screenshots (but do not abuse this).

Level: Gameplay of a level. Supports Sub Category; example: World 1-1
Location: Gameplay of a location or town. Supports Sub Category; example: Midgar
Menus: Various menus of game. Example: your trainer card in Pokemon (and sub category would be 'Trainer Card')
Battle: Screenshot of a battle; usually applies to RPGs. Example: A battle between 2 Pokemon
Introduction: Screenshot is part of the introduction
Cut-Scene: Screenshot is part of a Cut-Scene or Story
Ending: Screenshot is part of the ending
World Map: Screenshot of world map. Supports Sub Categories; example: World 1
Misc: If screenshot doesn't fall into any other category
Character Select: Character Select Screen; example: picking a fighter in Street Fighter
Level Select: Level Select Screen; example: picking a level in Mega Man
Mode Select: Some games have many modes, this would be the screen that shows the possible game modes
Game Select: Some games have multiple games in them, this would be the screen that lets you pick a game

Sounds great... I just went to Submit a few screenshots I make, and I found the categories...

What an interesting addition. I always did think the screenshots for the more popular games were pretty cluttered.

madison : That's exactly how I feel. I want it to be easier to sort through the screenshots and I thought it'd be even cooler to be able to find a screenshot based on the type of screenshot. As far as I know, no other gaming site categorizes their screenshots like this.
