Netplay
This is the most anticipated feature ever! You can now play various games with others online. You can view all sessions on this page:

You must have a powerlevel of Normal User and up to join sessions, or you must buy the 'Netplay' item from the itemshop using Viz. For more information on powerlevels, go here:

MAME/Arcade Games
Arcade games have been among the most requested games and we're currently in the process of making them available. Since they're in the process of being worked on, they'll only be available to staff members and beta testers. However, if you want to become a beta tester so that you can get early access to the Arcade games, you can buy the 'Beta Test Ticket' from the item shop for 10,000 Viz here:

Once you have that, you can test out the Arcade games. Probably around 30% of the Arcade games currently don't work but they're all free of Viz during the testing phase. Also, all of the Arcade games still need to be renamed. You can find the Arcade games here:

Since most of you are now feeling pretty disappointed that you have to either save up Viz or wait a few months to get access to the Arcade games, I've decided to make 8 games available right away:
Small games: Donkey Kong, Marble Madness, Frogger, Flicky
Big games: Metal Slug 5, King of Fighters 2000, Cruisn USA, G.I.Joe



New Systems
Atari 5200 has been added to the Retro Game Room. Apple II and Commodore 64 games are now compatible with the RGR Plugin, they were already available using Java emulators but now they can be played using the RGR Plugin which means better playability, better compatibility and more features. So the new system is the Atari 5200 huh? I guess I'll check it out when I come on tomorrow. It's also good to see that arcade games are available.

megamanmaniac : Well the big new system is Arcade but I'm not sure if that'd be considered a system or not.

Davideo7 : When you say arcade do you mean a specific system or all the classic from the 70s and early 80s?

Davideo7 : I enjoy this new MAME Arcade and Atari 5200. This may be a dumb question, but will you guys ever put any PS1, PS2, or the original Xbox games? Just wondering. But anyway, I enjoy this new feature.

megamanmaniac : There are actually a few systems that the latest plugin supports that I didn't launch so I'll probably put some focus on launching those systems over the next month or so. The project of getting all of the Arcade games to work is going to be a massive project though and I expect it to take 3-4 months.

How does this "Net play" work and what games does it work for?

I just tried some of the small Arcade games... And they all work perfect.

However, when playing Donkey Kong half part of the screen was white... That's because of the original machine's screen size, I guess?

what games work with net play?

primeape : Netplay works with every system except the gameboy's I believe. However, in order to join a Netplay, you must be a normal member. To achieve normal membership, you must have 10 posts and have been registered for 7 days. You can also buy an item from the item shop called Netplay for 25000 Viz. It allows newbies to join Netplay sessions.
