Yeah, and it wasn't me so I'm amazed, jk. Hopefully this project can speed up a bit.

Well, even with the hex editor, which is new for me -btw- I can't access some of the files (called something vague like xx01, xx02 and so forth). They are just identified by my system as "files" and I can't open them anyhow. Only managed to access the Sega screen so far, the french title and some in-game stuff I think (which doesn't need translation).

I think this has to do with the way the game has been packed but I'm not sure as I'm still quite a newbie in this domain.

The good thing: the little trick I have given you can work miracles on games you thought you could not run. I personally use SSF and I can run almost ANY game from Saturn from any download, even without bios for most of them. So check the trick. It's a real cool one. You'll need an audio converter (try something like free mp3 wma converter) and Sega CueMaker, which are readily available on the net.

I may check for other downloads of Idainaru DBZ Densetsu to see if they are packed the same way. Any technical help would be gladly appreciated at this point...

I've been trying to get Alf516 to help. He's pretty much acting like this project doesn't exist. He's a hacker, so he should be able to help. Still, am trying to get his help.

I think I found out what kind of extensions those files are.

They seem to be of the X01 to X15 format. I am not sure but they could be what is called 'Paradox Secondary Index' kind of files.

This project is pretty much dead. AlleyGhost hasn't updated us in a while. I think that it's time to put this idea to rest.

Have you considered maybe doing a translation thats a bit easier?
I'm pretty sure I could find a good Japanese SNES game that hasnt been translated and you could work up from that?

DBZ L has minimal text. Not much translation. Or do you mean making the coding easier?

A SNES game would be easier to edit the text and code and graphics.

I never found the way to hack into the text files.
So unless someone can crack it open, I can't do nada from now...so yeah let's say it's on the rocks...

Like I said I am still willing to translate it, but I could spend an eternity trying to open the text files. I don't even remember if I could properly localize them in the game...

Furthermore it seems a translation would not be so critical to playing this game, would it? (maybe I missed something?)
