Hi, I've tried three platforms.  None work, but they all fail differently.

Atari 2600:  it opened a screen with buttons and a chat section (though none of the buttons were active), but while it said it was loading the game, it never did--it just kept the same message.

Apple 2  I get a different screen...all I have is a black window with this as the total copy:
You should see an Apple ][+ here.
You must press 'Reset' to start the game
Controls vary depending on game, since this is a computer based system, it may use any key but Shift, Ctrl, Enter/Return and Spacebar are    the primary keys

The top line "You should see"  is hidden unless I am copying it.

NES : I got a black screen with text controls listed on the right side, but no game ever loaded nor were there instructions or a place to click...

Btw, tried this in Firefox and Chrome, updated Java, downloaded and installed the plug in, closed and reopened all browsers.  My OS is Vista 64 bit if that matters...

help?

JeffEdL : Hmm I report no problems from my end so this must have something to do with your computer or internet connection.

The Apple II games actually require you to hit the "reset" button on the screen. Then give it a few to load up. Clicking on the screen usually brings it up. Atari games usually require a reset as well.

Sounds like for the NES games that you aren't using the Plugin, it sounds like you are using the Java emulator. This issue I believe has something to do with the last java update released that the producers of that Java emulator are trying to fix. For now use the plugin and you should be fine. Make sure you are clicking the link to the far right for "Play Game"

Chrome and Firefox are the best to use with the plugin so that's fine. I use both without issue.

This should be looked at by the Retro Game Room staff. I'm sending it to the Retro Game Room forum. There the staff can work with you on fixing these problems.

JeffEdL : Maybe try reconnecting to the Internet or restarting your computer.

SuperGameBoy1 : In these help forums I don't mind if you post something if you are actually helping but something like your post in here is of little help especially considering the original responses. Please read through the posts in a thread first before responding.

Jordanv78 :  Thanks!!!  I got the NES and Atari loaded so I assume they'll work as well/poorly as I remember them working on the originals

re the Apple issue: I hear what you're saying, the problem is that I don't have any buttons showing up at all...imagine a black resizable pop up window up with simple text.  Clearly no automation objects on it, except for the MS Window buttons in the top right (i.e. close, max, min).  I only see the one button to load the game, so it's not that I'm an idiot on this one too.  Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help!

Jordanv78 :  Ah, so that's what its supposed to look like...I don't have that entire object panel, I only have the text.  Since in my case the text is on the top, I suspect that the load fails right after populating the text.

JeffEdL : I know I have said this before, but use Firefox. I loaded it in Firefox just fine. Maybe it's a particular game you are having trouble with. I just loaded Donkey Kong just fine. Try that and see if it populates.
