I love football, I watch every game of the Eagles, and I would be more than happy to join this league! Hopefully there is a spot still, let me know ASAP!

Well, the league sure did fill up fast the second you announced it, haha. I didn't even think to check the forums to see if vizzed had its own league. I've been playing on Yahoo since 07 in fantasy football, on NFL.com before that, but yahoo is definitely smoother when it comes to live drafts and setting up pre-made ranking lists.

Oh well, I'll remember that you all have a regular league here next year and I'll definitely join. See you all in the future. lol.

The league is full and I've updated some league settings. If everyone is fine with the settings made, I'll finalize the league tomorrow.

The change I made was divisions. I've created 4 divisions:

Globeration: Owner, Globals and Moderators
Staffination: Moderators and Site Staff
Trusteration: Site Staff, Trusted Members and Posters
Anonymation: Posters and users who didn't let us know who their team was

What's the point of a division? 4 things:
1. It somewhat impacts who you play because you play everyone in your division at least once
2. The winner of every division goes to playoffs no matter what
3. The winner of every division also becomes a top playoff seed
4. I think it'll make the league even more fun, I've never been in a league with divisions (nor have I been in a league nearly this size, 20 teams)

Now before anyone thinks the divisions are unfair, let me defend myself first.

Wouldn't having a smaller league give you a better chance of getting to the playoffs?
First of all, the smaller the division, the more the members of that league will take it seriously. Most of the members of the Anonymation division probably wont take it seriously and most of them probably wont participate. I'm willing to bet everyone in the Globeration division will take the league very serious all season.

Wouldn't it be unfair for top contenders to be in the same division?
Although the the top team of each division goes to the playoffs, 6 teams total go to the playoffs which means, the top team of every division and than the next 2 best teams of all the divisions overall. So for example, it's possible for 3 teams from the same division to go to the playoffs.


The other change I made to the league was I enabled the 'League Pickem Game'. I've never had this enabled but I'm pretty sure it's just a side game which ranks you based on how well you are are predicting who is going to win each game.


Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions to the division teams, or suggestions to the overall league settings, let me know today before I finalize the teams.

I'm cool with having divisions. But it seems to me that a league with 20 teams should have 5 teams in every division, instead of the 4-5-5-6 set up that you have now.

Davideo7 : Divisions are fun so that's cool. Don't worry about me being active though. I have been playing fantasy football on yahoo since like 2004. I also play in 2 other leagues on Yahoo so my stuff will always be updated. As far as the settings go, they all look fine to me. I already pre-ranked the first 50 or so players and took out players I know for a fact are injured. So I should be good to go. Just please send a league message on Yahoo (or here) to let us know when the auto draft will be.

The largest leagues I have played in up to this league was 14 teams so it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Honestly keeping track of injuries and up and coming free agents will be very important in a league this size.

I gotcha. I didn't even notice the different division sizes 'til after I read your post, so I didn't pay that much attention. Oops.

I still think I'd prefer to see 5 teams in each, but at the same time I don't care all that much. And it doesn't seem like it'll give anyone an advantage, so I definitely won't be crying about how unfair it is after I lose.

soxfan849 : The different size divisions is the only way to balance things out if the divisions are based on powerlevel (since powerlevel sorta reflects participation).

The other option would be to make each division 5 teams and randomize the teams for each division.

I think this is plenty fair. I've also never done divisions except in baseball, but I like the concept.

I was about to not like the division idea, until I saw that the top from each division go AND others go as well.  That makes it more balanced in my opinion.

mlb789 : I almost put you in my division actually but that would mean I'd have to rename the divisions, otherwise it wouldn't have made sense.

I'm really looking forward to this year, and the only match up I'm really scared about is week twelve against you.  I think that's the only team I play from your division.

This sounds like a brilliant idea but weekly i'm not so sure :-(

My first game is against Seishiro...and with the division I'm in I hope I can make it to the playoffs

imo you should do a participation check, make everyone who is in your league re-post something to you just to check the seriousness of their commitment, and if they are not committed, please remove them and allow me to join the league. I was really looking forward to playing this year and then as of last weekend my league fell apart  


I watch football EVERY Sunday, Monday, and sometimes Thursday when it applies, so you can certainly rely on me being a competitive player in the league. The Openminded's need a League  ! !! Please help me join yours! (I know for a fact, just as you suspect, that some players are going to stop participating)
