Hi there gamers!

Well
one of todays topics is video health awareness.
How many of us have sat in front of the tv so long your brains start to
stir? Guilty…

According
to worldwide authorities and the Australian Associated Press using the
Taiwanese United daily news (phew..) an 18 year old Taiwanese man reportedly
collapsed and later died after attending a Diablo 3 marathon in an internet café
in Southern Taiwan.  The facts are reported
as the man entering a hotel room for the weekend then leaving to marathon all
the while spectators can factually report he never once stopped to eat or
rest.  When the hotel staff went to check
on him shortly after leaving they then found him in his room collapsed.  Now this is not breaking news as this has
happened many times over the years.
Statistics show such tragedies have been seen before from Asia including
an 86 hour uninterrupted game where another South Korean gentleman passed away.
The
developers of Diablo had this to comment in light of the recent events:

"We're saddened to hear this news, and our thoughts are with his
family and friends during this difficult time. We don't feel it would be
appropriate for us to comment further without knowing all of the circumstances
involved.

"While we recognize that it's ultimately up to each individual or
their parent or guardian to determine playing habits, we feel that moderation
is clearly important, and that a person's day-to-day life should take
precedence over any form of entertainment.

So guys
and gals, I think we all know what to walk away with from this situation, game
on everyone but please take a breather and stay healthy….

While I do like gaming until my eyes hurt and my brain turns to mush, I don't see how some one can play games until they pass out or die! that is a serious addiction right there.

Its strange but it seems more like a demographic because all the statistics were from asia mostly, they game pretty seriously there.  But according to the interview with the hotel employee the guys was face down on the table then was woken up and then died on the spot from heart failure or mal nourishment, his body just shut down completely. Yea myself i suffer from arthritis due to the non ergonomics of my lap top , just goes to show you that a walk in the park and some outside activity can never hurt.
