I spend the most time on Pokémon out of the two, but I like the simplicity of the Sonic games when I don't want to think about whether my Blaziken is strong enough to fend off a level 68 Swampert or not. In a nutshell, I like them both, but prefer Sonic for a game that I can play over and over.

I like both games a lot. But I have been playing a lot of pokemon lately and I'm slowly getting bored of it. Sonic seems to please me for a longer period of time. However it can sometimes get hard at points and result in me destroying a few keyboards and controllers Boogie2988 (A.K.A Francis) style. 

Though Sonic is a lot harder than your genuine pokemon game it does do the job for me, so that is what I voted for.

Pokemon, hands down. Nothing against Sonic, but Pokemon was an overall much funner and more successful franchise, that's all. Their games are very enjoyable, and it is the second largest video game franchise in the world (behind Mario)!
