Another forum I'm on used to allow you to change your gender. I don't know exactly why they stopped either. Maybe because people abused it.

I figured, the day a person was born can never change and nor can their gender ever change so why give users the options to change that stuff. I like consistency and it seems more professional if people have their gender set properly and age (especially since user name color is based on both).
