wats up peeps i am back again with another question for you all, how about adding BG music on this site? Would it work or is it a bad idea since every1s pcs may not respond well to downloading so much info from this site? like the music would make it slower for some people to view this page if BG music was added? But if you could add BG music ti this site couldnt u make it an option to view this page with the music on or off and if so do you think that would be a good idea to add a lil spice to the site while we're on here chattin

Honestly, I think it's a terrible idea. About eighty percent of the time that I'm online I'm also listening to music in winamp. I hate it enough when I'm on social networking sites and someone has music that starts automatically. Perhaps if it was something you would have to activate yourself it would be fine, but even so I think it would be rather unecessary.

I'd vote against the idea if it were to become a serious consideration but I somehow doubt it would be. I could be surprised of course, and like I said, so long as the default option was "off" I'd not really mind, haha.

True, number one thing "not to do" when making websites it implementing music on it especially if it's background music because there is no way to turn it off. But as rock said just as long as the default is set to off then it will work.

Maybe a popup window were we can have a vizzed playlist in lastFM and stream it?

yea that's what i meant like an option set to where if you wanted to hear Bg music on here all you have to do is select that option that would turn it on If it was on automatic then yes i do agree that it wouldnt be good because it would seriously slow down alot of peoples pcs while surfing online.

Its mainly not that, its just the point that rule #1 of webdev is no blinking backgrounds, rule #2 is no bg music.

Would be good in a popup though.

If you want to listen to music while posting.... then open up winamp and put some music on. We don't need music running in the background... that's just annoying

Just because Foobar is tons better than winamp.

No idea is a bad idea in my opinion when it's suggesting idea's for improving something, some idea's might not be as good as others but no idea is truly a bad idea because good idea's can come out of "bad" ideas.

Anyway, it wouldn't work to well since you're only on each page briefly. A "pop up" would work but of course we'd have to get a license for any song we played. Of course Midi's are almost always available for anyone to use and take up very little bandwidth but either way, I just don't think to many people would actually use the feature, if any.

Me and Jigsaw both went to the same college together and one of the big rules they had was try to avoid having music on a website. A flash website is acceptable since the point of them is to "WOW" you, but they should still have a mute button.

You know what WOULD be good? Vizzed Radio. As in, it could be a flash file that could be an embedded music player that lets you cycle through different music genres; or, have it work as a separate pop-up that won't be interrupted while you browse the site. Or, make it an MP3 file that you can open on your computer.

Having background music would make the site lose members, in my opinion. You COULD have "Vizzed Radio" as a tab in the browser tab at the top of the board's page.

To add on to your idea iBock, it could be an MP3 music player that opens up in a separate window which would be a flash based player and it would contain songs submitted by users. So give each user the ability to add 5 of their favorite songs to it and the music player would randomly play any of the user submitted songs. Though that would be very cool, would also be a lot of unnecessary work considering I'd have to pay someone to do it since I wouldn't have the time and not only that but not enough people would use it for it to be worth putting time and/or money into it, but still a cool idea.

Maybe adding a "donate" button to it. Make donating let them access other features like changing the skin of the player.

Or we could use any resources on features that more people would use.


Though I have actually seen one site with music that was good, was some 4chan spinoff, had the best radio system ever made. Playlists, shuffle, repeat, upload, fast, good quality, download. Had everything.

Maybe if the majority were for it then yes but as of now. :/
