I've come across a looming problem, which I want to make aware of to any admin that can help with this sort of problem.

I read this, quote "When playing the games on Vizzed, you are "borrowing" a digital copy of each game and will not have the ability to download the game to your machine."

The problem is, I am sitting here, with a copy of the Panel De Pon English hack. When I played the game on the RGR plug in, it happened to save a copy of the ROM on my computer, in a folder I found on my computer.

I'm sure, in reasonable hands, this problem isn't much of an issue. Someone with good morale would head over and delete said ROM when done. In reckless hands, this exploit could be used to upload to other websites, sent to other people, or worse yet, attempt to sell the ROM image. This is a serious piracy issue that may be a problem later on in the life of this website. I do, in fact, have a screen shot of the ROM loading on an emulator just fine, as well as a screen shot of where the ROMs are located, as well as a picture of the ZSNES module of RGR showing two choices of ROMs for loading. I have the ROM available to be linked, to show that I do, in fact, have the original ROM copy.

For the safety of the website, I have fully disclosed these images and link from public use. They are available on request of an admin.

If this is problematic, and you wish to disagree with this post, then do so. I am only making this post to spread a warning.

Davideo7 :

Best I can say with this sort of site issue is to contact the site owner, he'd have the best explanation.

On another note though, this is the disclaimer:

"When you play these games, you're legally "renting" a digital copy of a physical game we really own"

Kitoko : Users are responsible with what they do with the "cached" roms on their computer. The games have to cache themselves on a computer before they can be played in the browser. I suppose there's nothing stopping someone from taking those games and placing them on their own site. In the future we'll find a way to make it so those files are only playable using the RGR Plugin.

I gladly thank you for the concern. I only wanted to prevent this website from going down, because I know just how immense it is, with the ability to play classic video games right off the website, and to be able to put reviews and screen shots with the game. It's like a video game history house. I find it sensational that some people would go to the length of building all this just to make the information widely available to users. It wouldn't be fair for such a museum to have to go because some person decided to take advantage of some exploit in the system.

I am also glad that you, as the website owner, actually care, so in that case I salute you with kindest regards on behalf of all those that helped me make this cry for help. This includes MegaRevolution1. I don't have any words for how helpful that user is, and if you see need for any help with the website, they are a considerable choice. They have been more help than anyone else here I've met.

And meanwhile, I will be doing all I can to help out around here, whether it be showing the owner a problem, or simply submitting screen shots (Which I will have to see if the problem is fixed from last time.)
