Hey, I was wondering if anyone preferred the Japanese soundtrack over the US one, or the other way around.  (I know that the US track was in places other than the US)  just say what version you prefer and if you can, which music tracks you especially like from either one.

I'd prefer the JP one because it didn't have that annoying "Sonic Boom" song in it.

Japanese... It's clearly superior over the U.S one... Just listen to the Boss theme of it and you'll understand me.

American sounds pretty sad and screwed... But, I must admit that it has a few good tracks.

Collision Chaos (Good future)

Title screen

-Lows-

Boss music

Metalic Madness (All timezones except good future)

-American-

-Highs-

Stardust speedway (Bad future)

Special Stages

-Lows-

Wacky Workbench (Present and Bad future) [Bad future is so bad that it is funny] XD

Japanese track. I wasn't really fond of the English tracks, being they just didn't give the right feeling to the levels. I also prefer "You Can Do Anything" over "Sonic Boom", which leaves all the more reason, Nya~.

Is it just me or did the Japanese version seem to have more emphasis on sound/vocal effects in its tracks whereas the US version was mostly just the music? It felt more like standard Genesis music whereas the Japanese version tried to take advantage of the fact that the game was on a CD. That's how it seemed to me anyway...

I prefer the Japanese over the U.S because the Japanese has more "pep" than the U.S (A prime example is the U.S boss theme). Don't get me wrong, the U.S has great tracks (I'm talking about stardust speedway Bad Future for example), but both focuses mostly on a different aspect of the level. The Japanese soundtrack felt like it was mostly on the action in the level (EX: the race against Metal Sonic instead of the place it happened). The U.S soundtrack is mostly focused on the atmosphere of the level(EX: The place where you race Metal Sonic).

The Japanese version all the way. What is wrong with the U.S. Soundtrack? Well, I'll tell you.

Some of the tracks in the US version were...okay, at the least. But some are just plain awful or creepy.

Take the US game over theme for instance, it's like your going to the bowels of heck for losing the game. The US Boss theme is also maddeningly creepy, especially since it plays on the Majin screen.
