I think there are good cartoons out now, it's just not the same as it once was. I do admit that I still love to sit down and watch a bunch of TMNT or Ducktales cartoons and think back fondly.

I do miss some of the old cartoons... Like Ed Edd n Eddy or Johnny Bravo

But... The reason for why people say "Old cartoons used to be better" is because of nostalgia... They prefer their cartoons over the new ones and that doesn't let them see clearly. New cartoons are good too (Not all, just some).

I prefer the old cartoons, but not for the same reasons my peers do. I prefer the old cartoons because they're timeless. I could watch those cartoons when I was a kid, and I can watch them now and still enjoy them. The reason for their timelessness is the little hidden jokes in them.

For example: In the show "Cow and Chicken", there was an episode where a bunch of biker women busted into Cow and Chickens' house. They then proceeded to eat the carpet out from under Cow and Chickens' feet. Now as a kid, you're not going to get that joke. You're just gonna laugh at the women eating the carpet. However, as an adult you'll understand the "carpet-biter" joke and you'll laugh along with your child.

I haven't seen any cartoons nowadays that have those hidden messages. I assume it's due to some kind of new regulations put on cartoons.

Ah man, I miss the old shows. The Loony Tunes show is garbage, and Adventure Time and some other ones are stupid. 

I remember Rocket Power, the original Pokémon, Samurai Jack, Rugrats... those shows were the bomb, though. I want them to have a Retro Cartoon channel. We need one of those.

I personally prefer the older cartoons.

Don't get me wrong there are some good cartoons on now but they are few and far between. Aside from the obvious complaints about the story etc the jokes they use now are so obvious. It's like everything has to be a poop or a sex joke.

The older cartoons were just a little more creative with their jokes, timing and story.

I definitely prefer the old cartoons but there are some new ones that are pretty good too like avatar but the old ones like the classic dragon ball z are best. Tom and Jerry, looney toons, cat dog, those are the ultimate unstoppable legends that will never die
