I've been a fan of Christian metal ever since my Uncle introduced me to the Stryper era Hair bands. Which led to Skillet, Pillar, Underoath, and eventually Death Metal like Tourniquet and Mortification and Christian Black Metal like Horde and Antestor

So, Demon Hunter's new album True Defiance came out just a little while back, from what I've heard it's fantastic. Can't wait to pick it up later this Summer, but does anyone else have it yet? If so, is it just two or three good songs or is the whole thing great? Either way, anyone else aware of new Christian metal albums or a lesser known favorite album or artist?

Wow, Christian metal.... I've actually never heard of it. I would check it out, but I'm not really all that much into those kinds of bands.

I like As I Lay Dying , Demon Hunter, and Rob Rock (they play power metal). Most bands that I like are secular, but I just try to stay away from the gory or satanic bands (which is why I avoid black metal and most death metal).

I don't really keep track of the new albums out - although, yeah, I'd say Styper, Skillet, Pillar, and Demon Hunter have some awesome music.

Sometimes though Christian Metal bands have questionable lyrics even though their heart is in the right place. I don't listen to music that much nowadays because of that. I used to listen to metal and punk, but after Christ changed my perspective, the lyrics just don't seem beneficial to listen to. Hope I'm not just blabbering away.

If u wanna listen to some Hard-core Christian metal and/or scream. Check out Oh Sleeper. The lead singer of Demon Hunter actually does their artwork and supports them 100% the Lyrics are Dark but has the right message. The Song BREATHING BLOOD says this. "this air shouldn't fill my lungs. YOU SHOULD BE BREATHING BLOOD." and in The New Breed the song says "But I just cant breathe without you in the air and I won't so rip out these lungs... and for my heart, you can cut it from my chest.
Oh God, if that's what you want, for me to feel life endlessly...
I'll breathe your blood for the rest of my life."
The lyrics are dark but as I said gives off the right message. There latest album is a concept album. They tell a story but since then they have been getting bad rep about it. ppl has called them anti-religion cause of it but they say idc. This is the way we tell the truth and the bible isn't as what ppl think. It is actually very violent" which is true and my last reason how I know they are is the name. They got it from a verse that says. 
"Therefore it says, 'Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.'" Ephesians 5:14

I don't know what to say..its Christian rock these days too..so I bet next is Christian hip hop

LOL, there is a lot more than Toby Mac. Christian hip-hop is HUGE! Toby Mac is just a tiny part of it - and I don't mean to offend any of his fans but a lot of his stuff, especially his old stuff, isn't really the highest quality hip-hop available. I do like him though.
