New Super Mario Bros. U was announced at E3 on Tuesday. It will be a launch title for the Wii U, and be the fourth (techinically fifth) game in the New Super Mario Bros series. It looks a lot like a tech demo shown at E3 2011 called New Super Mario Bros Mii. There is a brand new suit called the Flying Squirrel Suit. Unlike the Raccoon, Tanooki (in SMB3), Cape, Wing Cap, Red Star, and Propeller Suit, this will only let you spread your wings and have a slower, softer landing. This new power-up comes from an Acorn Mushroom.

Multiplayer will return, like in the Wii game, but you can also play as your Miis. The game's graphics already look amazing, especially to me because I don't own an HD televison. There are now Baby Yoshis, which, depending on what color you get, can turn into a balloon, spit bubbles, or can light up dark areas. With Miiverse, you're able to connect with online friends, and see their hints, records, and their reactions to how you lose lives.

This game is going to be awesome.  But the only problem I have is that I am not sure if there will be any online play for this game.  It would be even more fun to play with friends on this cause it can be funny and exciting.  If anyone knows if there is going to be online play for NSMB2, please let me know.

I do agree with you, though. I think that NSMBU should have online multiplayer. But even if it doesn't, it's still something I'm really looking forward to!

The backdrops to the levels look beautiful. This looks like the first truly breathtaking Mario game since the original Galaxy, and that one blew me away. I can't wait to get this, but I'm a little disappointed the gamepad won't be serving much purpose in the game.
