Um the next generation Nintendo console will be the Wii U. A new system needs several things to survive.

1) reasonable price range. 299.99 or 349.99 seems a little steep, but it it comes with one of those pads and a controller, the price seems fair.

2) good 1st party games. I gotta think Nintendo will churn out some quality games. Super Smash Brothers and Legend of Zelda games would really deliver.

3) good 3rd party games. It looks like the Wii U is already going to get Assasins Creed and Fifa, so that's looking promising.

Then other things like good multiplayer, graphics, and downloadable content, but it's looking pretty clear that Nintendo is going to really put it all into this console.
