I prefer oil paints. If you can perfect them, you can do some really neat stuff. Also it's the paint I used to make some of my best artwork

Nice thing about oil paints, they take FOREVER to dry...not sure if that's actually a good thing or a bad thing, but it can be nice sometimes. It does get annoying though working with oil paints, sometimes you gotta wait days for certain parts of it to dry

Oils make an awesome medium because of the blending capability, yes. And you can go back and fix stuff because the paint is still wet the next day.. lol.

Oils may be more blendable, but they are not as versatile as acrylics as a whole. Acrylics can perform like oils or watercolors. You can water them down to get a watercolor effect, and they blend fairly well. I do all my art in acrylic...well, actually, my favorie piece of art i did, i did with acrylics, white-out, and a black sharpie.
