The new RGR Plugin 1.7 is available now, download it here:

This plugin should automatically uninstall the previous when you go to install it.

This new plugin is about 3 times larger than the previous plugin (at around 45 MB), however, it may be the last plugin for a very long time because this new plugin gives me the ability to add new systems to the plugin/rgr without having to release a new plugin. So future systems will be added to the site and made playable without the need for getting another plugin. So this may be the last plugin you'll ever have to install. You wont lose any save files from upgrading.

The following systems were already playable on the site but now they're playable with the plugin which means they now have better compatibility, playability and features

Hi-Res N64 Texture Hacks
This new plugin now supports High Resolution texture pack hacks for N64 games. These are basically enhancements to N64 games which either give them waaay better graphics or new graphics. AL, TG, SGFX, NGP, NGPC, SMS, SGG, WS and WSS now support high scores again
The last plugin had problems with high score submissions for Atari Lynx, Turbo Grafx, SuperGrafx, Neo Geo Pocket, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Sega Master System, Sega Game Gear, WonderSwan and WonderSwan color, so the ability to do high scores was taken down last month. As of this plugin, the feature is back!

Arctic Wolf (SS82) : Nope, sorry. The cost to have netplay added is just too much and we haven't received nearly enough donations to help pay for it.

Ugh... having Net Play would get us a lot more users.

And is this a new update that I have to download in order to use the Retro Game Room?

Davideo7 : I wasn't complaining about the Plug-IN, I was complaining about CCleaner. And we know that you are dedicated to this site, otherwise you would have just left it to crumple to the ground years ago.

I get that because you can add systems without needing a new plugin release, that cuts down on having to download new plugins. But when you say "this may be the last plugin you will ever have to install", does that mean that you can also add new features without developing a new plugin? For example, if the site ever does get enough donations for a Netplay feature, you wouldn't need to have a plugin update to do it?

I'm trying to uninstall the old version so I can update the new plugin
 it just says it cant find the old plugin  to uninstall so it automatically
closes what should I do?

I say many thanks for the new plug-in and the devotion to the site. I really wish I had more than $15 to donate to help get netplay, but I don't think that will even help much. :/

I'm having trouble with the plug in. It keeps saying interrupted, then it will start all the way over.

rcarter2 : No it doesn't mean I'll be able to add new plugin features, just new systems. Tom says he's done developing and it's hard to find people to take over projects like this so if we did get a new plugin, it'd be quite a long time from now. I doubt we'll ever get enough donations to fund netplay but if we did, than I'd go out of my way to find someone to add that.

Of course there's still a lot of features the RGR will get without needing plugin updates which are just as exciting as plugin updates, one of them being game completion/speed runs.

Oh, I was not aware that speed runs and completions wouldn't require plugin updates. Well, it is a shame that tom is no longer developing. I realize that there were some things that were frustrating him, but I hope he knows how much his work was appreciated. Anyway, this update is pretty good and I'm glad I was able to start submitting new Aldynes scores

I can't get the download to even show up...all it shows is binary code, no link or anything...I uninstalled the old one, but it doesn't help.

rcarter2 : There's a few other exciting features that I'm able to do on the server side that I'm not yet ready to reveal. But yeah, his work for vizzed was definitely worth every penny. Maybe now I could start saving up money to invest into other stuff.
