I'd like to talk about something completely random that everybody knows about, but nobody ever talks about. And it's about time someone does.

The friggin' unused Apricot syrup you see at restaurants that serve breakfast.

If you're like me, you've noticed that no matter how many of the things are on a table the jar is ALWAYS full. Why bother bringing the crap out if nobody eats the stuff? Just who the hell eats it? It seems like restaurants waste some money by buying it and leaving it on tables to rot for months. I've never seen anybody pour it on their pancakes or waffles or whatever. Only the other two jars (multi-berry and maple) are emptied and fought over like a winning Powerball lottery ticket. Of course if you're one to eat the stuff then you're in apricot syrup heaven, but you'd be only one of 10,000 restaurant breakfast eaters- an outcast to the syrup eater society.

Now, I could be wrong about this and the truth could be that I'm the outcast and everybody else just loves apricot syrup. And the reason why the jars are always full is that restaurant staff fill them up before bringing them to the table since they're always returned emptied, having been ravaged by everybody like an ancient sex-crazed Viking going into a brothel. But really, apricot? I'm pretty sure that they have that flavor to add variety to tri-syrup rack it sits in, but if that were the case why apricot? Why not banana or mint? Who here wouldn't use mint syrup? Man, they just need to get rid of the stuff or create some incentive to get people to eat it.

They have Apricot Syrup?
I have never really noticed it there at all, but I don't go to restaurants like that often though.
As for the Mint Syrup idea, I don't really see that as working, since some people might confuse it with something else, if ya get what I mean, Nya~

It's a fruit.  Why not have a syrup.
The trick here is to not judge what others like.  People like it and they have it so it works.  There's tabasco on the table too but you don't have to use that.

Fruit is sweet, syrup is sugary, so apricot syrup it is.

Yeah, people like it. That's why you never see it being used. But this isn't about what other people like, although only somewhat related, but rather the fact you never see anybody eating it.

It has been too long since I even went to some restaurant that even has the apricot syrup. I do not know anybody who enjoy that stuff, and I don't know for sure if I'd like it myself. If it actually is going to waste at all, then we have a lose-lose situation. The restaurant losses money then we, the customers, have to pay more to make up for it. If it does come to this, slap the face of whoever first decided to make apricot syrup --even if he's already dead.

Well there aren't many restaurants here that have apricot syrup as much as I know. Maybe one day I will try it out for myself.

I honestly haven't noticed the stuff, but then again my attention span is quite minimal, haha. Im guessing some people must use it when we aren't looking otherwise I don't think they would pay the money for the various bottle of the stuff. I do wonder if this apricot syrup of any good, may try it sometime.

The fact of the matter is, Maple and Multi-Berry are the tastiest of all the syrups. It's kind of like the different kinds of jams. Everybody loves grape and strawberry jam, but apricot is just "meh". The reason apricot products are so overlooked, is because no one really ever wants to try them, because we all know that there is better. Why eat something that's "ok", when you could be eating something (in the words of Tony the Tiger) Grrrrrrrreat!

I have never actually seen this Apricot syrup that you speak of. Around here, we have that issue with Blueberry syrup though. It's rather amusing to know that the only person that only ever actually uses the damned syrup is my stepdad who has a thing for blueberry stuff.
